Freemasons Of Billingham Description

Eanred Lodge 7478 was named in 1956 and also received its Warrant of Constitution on 25th July of the same year. The Lodge was consecrated on 18th May 1957.
The Lodge began life when a group of Brothers from the Lodge of Fraternity 1418, based in the Stockton Masonic Hall, decided to form a new Lodge based in Billingham.
St. Albans’ Church Hall, Corfe Crescent, Billingham, was where the Lodge began life. The Lodge moved to St. Cuthbert's Hall, Church Road , Billingham, in 1958 where in remained for ten years, moving to its present home of Billingham Masonic Hall, 32 Mill Lane, Billingham, in 1968. The Lodge meets on the second Monday of the month except for July and August when it is in recess. The Installation of the new Worshipful Master takes place at the May meeting.
The Eanred Chapter was formed in 1980. The Chapter is part of the Royal Arch and is a different branch of Freemasonry, although it is considered to be the culmination of the Third Degree in the regular Lodge. The Chapter meets on the fourth Friday of September, November, January and March. The Installation of the new First Principal occurs at the September meeting.
In September 2015, Hospitality Lodge 174 joined Eanred in the Billingham Masonic Hall having moved from the Masonic Hall at Raby Road, Hartlepool. Hospitality Lodge is a member of The Order of Women Freemasons.
On 16th November 2017, the St. Lawrence Lodge of Mark Master Masons held its first meeting at the Hall following their move from South Shields. The Mark Degree, like the Royal Arch, is one of the many side Degrees of Freemasonry.
