Fss - Friends Of The Solent Schools

We are a registered charity whose purpose is to raise funds and organise events to help provide extra equipment and facilities to the children at the school. We also provide funding and support for special activities within the school

The FSIS is overseen by a committee consisting of Five elected officers - Chair, Vice-Chair, Communication Secretary, Publicity & Marketing Secretary and Treasurer. All parents, guardians and extended family members of children in the school are automatically members of the FSIS and any member can join the committee or attend meetings at any time.

Meetings:
All our meetings are informal and we would love for you to come along and get involved - we are particularly keen to hear new ideas for fundraising activities, and experiences we could support for the children in the school.

What we do:
We hold many fundraising events throughout the year, including a Christmas, Easter and Summer Fayre, Quiz Nights and a 'Easter Egg' and 'Advent' drawing competition which are sponsored by Northwood Estate Agents, who also give us generous raffle donations throughout the year. We also sell uniforms and jute bags to raise money for the school. Over the years we have purchased many items for the school to enhance our children's learning environment - these include the sunshade, rainbow benches, wicker huts and Reception playhouse and our largest donation was towards the fantastic Adventure Playground.

How you can Help:
There are a variety ways you can help, by coming along to our meetings and joining a working party, manning stalls at the fayres or simply by using the website links listed below.
