Drone Photography.... So I bought a drone a month or so ago after seeing some amazing footage on various social media platforms. I thought it would be a reasonable (read as - easy) transition from "standard photography" into the world of drones. Well the basic science behind it applies - ISO, Shutter speeds etc, however the world of video is a totally different ball game... I was so excited seeing the first footage, it was uploaded straight out of the camera in its full jerk...iness, flat lit raw footage - but I was chuffed! Now I have taken a bit of time to reflect and learn more about what a good film should look like. It means shooting video with a purpose, thinking about the transitions, building a story, but being concise and learning how to edit video. Its been a huge learning curve over the last few weeks and I've only just spotted the tip of the iceberg, never mind touched it! Its exciting and its frightening (when your drone stops responding 3km away!) but hopefully over the coming months, I will keep learning and improving (both drone control and editing) to produce something thats half reasonable. Here is the the latest footage, with hopefully most of the jerkiness removed and an improvement on the last upload!
