great place for lunch and puddings

What a wonderful place warm cosy brilliant costumer service from all the staff especially Bee behind the bar.stayed over night for my birthday unfortunately didn’t try the food but it looked amazing so will be returning to try a steak which locals recommend! Real good value for money. Only gripe was few cob webs above my head in bed had been missed room 1 but that’s not gonna put us off .

What a gem of a pub, visited Ashbourne for a 3 night mini break, we had lunch here twice and couldn't fault it, great food and reasonably priced. The staff were very welcoming and once we got past their little dogs bark he was a friendly little fella too. 5* would highly recommend it to anyone.

Went for food but unfortunately they had stopped serving food at 8pm which seemed rather early for bank holiday Friday. We went again on Saturday and got served. Food was fabulous and the guys serving were great.

The most friendly pub you could wish for. Excellent food and dog treats and water for our pooch!!

Staff extremely polite and the young lads who serve the food were very polite and well manared . very dog friendly and there little dog was soooo cute! Lovely place and very tasty food. Will go there whenever passing through. Great place

Only a flying visit, food was excellent, the chips were the best ever, staff friendly, definitely be coming back for more !!!!

Nice relaxing place, loved the Shrove Tide related decor giving it that local feel. Food was lovely and much appreciated after a 10 mile hike! Good range of beers on draught. Dog friendly pub which is always a game changer and finally the staff were friendly with a sound understanding of great customer service (may actually be in love with our server). Good work all round!

My son recommended this pub and we couldn't agree more ! Great food , good ales and very friendly staff. Definitely be going again .

Fabulous food, lovely hard working young people who served us and went out there way to help us. Also helped that they had such a beautiful little dog, made my time there even better

Excellent food wonderful staff, I fell in love with the dog lol and the staff were slightly amused when my husband asked for milk on his bread and butter pudding, sorry seriously can't take him any where!!

Been here a few times to eat. Fantastic welcome. Delicious food but it’s the staff that make it so special and homely.

Stayed at george and dragon wed. Lovely staff room was lovely but very hot so didn't sleep much ad to keep opening the window other thing too toilet kept making noises. I got in be 4 pub shut didn't like the thought of going up fire escape on my own otherwise ad nice day in room 4 over looking market square.very clean comfy couldn't get tele to work no signal so sat on bed on FB from 8 _20. Till fell sleep. Will go again but not in room four. X

Not been in for a long time,a friend said try it they serve great food so thats what we did yesterday what a improvement lovely staff and Sunday lunch was lovely,my only moan is wish the beef was roasted,boiling it gives no taste or texture!

Called in for food unannounced. Dog friendly. I had the gammon which was a lovely thick steak and my husband had the cottage pie & chunky chips. Although s bit of a wait it was worth waiting for. So good we returned the following evening and ate the same meals again

Unfortunately, despite being quiet, after waiting for nearly an hour for our food arrive and being promised 3 times it was on its way by different members of staff, we had to leave with a refund #hangryreview
