About Gillingham Marina

Gillingham Marina, set on the River Medway, has built up a fine reputation for its superb facilities and high standard security arrangements.

Situated on the south bank of the River Medway, only eight miles from Sheerness, the Marina lies below the Chatham Historic Dockyard in Gillingham Reach. Five miles downstream of Rochester Bridge, Gillingham Marina is an ideal base for both local cruising on the Medway and Thames or more extended voyages to the East Coast and to France.

It lies in a sheltered position from winter winds and, being just 5 miles from the M2 on the Medway Towns Northern Link Road, it offers an attractive alternative to the South Coast.

There is good access to the Locked Basin with + /- 4½hrs HW and with + /-2 to 21 /2 hrs HW for the Tidal basin.

Having awarded the Marina Five Gold Anchors, The Yacht Harbour Association believes it to rank among the best in the country. We think you will agree. We look forward to seeing you.

Gillingham Marina Facilities

Locked Basin

In our Locked Basin boats are afloat at all states of the tide with access through the lock up to 4-1 /2 hours either side of HW. Boats up to 23m length overall can be accommodated stern or bow onto Walcon pontoons secured between piles or finger piers. Water and electricity is available on all berths, electricity is free for day time attended use. The Locked Basin incorporates an exclusive high security area for luxury craft with the added protection of key card operated gates. The Marina even has its own helicopter landing pad.

Tidal Basin

Offering all the facilities of the Locked Basin but access restricted to about 2 hours either side of high water springs; (Craft in the Tidal Basin come to rest in soft mud berths at LW and all types of keel and propulsion configurations can be accommodated in safety and without difficulty). Deep water moorings are available for arrival and departure at low water-accessible via dinghy slip with extensive secure, reserved, tender storage racks. The Tidal Basin shows a significant saving-Five Gold Anchor facilities at a very economical rate.

Electricity

Mains water is available to all berths, electricity, 32A and 16A supplies are available at no extra cost while the owner is in attendance while for those who want to leave power attached over night or when the boat is unattended, electricity is charged by way of metered leads and invoiced quarterly.

Showers / Toilets

Are provided in three blocks, serving different areas of the marina so you should not have too far to walk. As the whole of the marina is a secure area, there is no need for keys or coded keys pads to access these facilities at any time.

Laundry

Commercial, large capacity, washing machines and driers are token operated; tokens available from Reception.

Security

Security Guards are on site 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. When stopped at the barrier on entering, you will be required to give your name and boat name. If you have guests who are arriving independently, please advise us to avoid delaying or embarrassing your guests.

Fuel

Our refuelling point, outside the lock gates, serves gas oil and unleaded petrol. Service is available at most states of the tide during day light hours winter and summer.

Good morning from the MYC cadet regatta, sponsored by Gillingham Marina. Last night was the first under canvas for 20 young dingy sailors, to be greeted by a full breakfast served by these two chiefs.

This is our second year and we couldn't be more happy with it. Excellent, well maintained facilities, together with a friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated staff team.

User

My partner keeps his boat there-the facilities, toilet and shower rooms are excellent and the club house if lovely. A very good place to have a social life as well as having a sailing one .

User

Loving the new lifestyle on the water.

The marina is an attractive place with many friendly faces. It has the advantage of a bar and restaurant and a sports centre with all the facilities required.

Everyone here is willing to lend a hand with whatever you need to know. My boat was delivered on a lorry so the canopy had been removed. Within 5 mins of looking at all the parts three people arrived to give a hand. Most appreciated and thanks to Mark, Mick & Mick.

User

Lovely place such a nice place to stay, would live on my boat there if the wife would let me lol :-)

User

Lovely friendly people, fantastic bar and restaurant, made to feel very welcome, the Carvery was excellent as usual, keep up the good work.

User

It is very nice marina, quiet and peaceful, accessible at all times apart from 1.5 hours either side of low water. The entrance is protected by a boom and is easy even at maximum flood/ebb. Facilities are good and the staff are very friendly. Big chandlery, also a large, working boatyard.

There is a small bar which also does food but it is only open at weekends. There is a Tesco Express and one pub nearby but not much else unless you get a taxi to Rochester.

User

Indeed. Looked after us and Ghibly on return from Sardinia. Very friendly.

User

Beautiful marina, can't wait to spend more time there , very nice and chic

As somebody who works in the Marine Industry along with previous experience in Sales and Customer Service I am delighted to say that my experience today in your chandlery was exemplary, a bright, friendly, honest and helpful team you had there. Understanding my needs and producing a box full of stock items for me to complete a Hull repaint on a friends boat, this was an extremely pleasant experience.

I would recommend this Chandlery happily, wishing you all every success....!

A very beautiful place to be, great place for a yacht with excellent gardens with play park for kids
