We stayed here this week for the 1st time excellent location for the lake great walks off the site very peaceful clean toilets/showers great views of surrounding mountains looking forward to staying again would recommend :) :)
We love it here! Have camped for a weekend in July nearly every year for over 8 years and is a stunning location.
We have stayed here 3 times this year! Unfortunately our trip this last week was cut short on Thursday due to extremely bad weather. We love it here!!! Peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Great walks straight from site and within easy reach of village. Perfect!!!
This is what a caravan and camping site in the Lakes/National Park should be modelled on.
Nothing done to get more money out of your pocket, everything is done so you can get out and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Helpful and friendly reception, with a nice smile and “can do” attitude.
The breakfast wagon is worth the visit even if you’re not camping/caravanning there.
I/we will be back SOON x
Stunningly beautiful & very tranquil.
If you really want to get away from it all this is best place,no tv, Wifi or mobile phone reception.👍
We stayed in August 2016(rained the whole week 😃) in a static caravan that was extremley clean & spacious.
View of the stream from the bedroom, mountain to the front.
Fantastic location for visiting the Lakes,Yorkshire & Scotland.
Cannot recommend highly enough.
Stunning views'loads of wildlife'great access to fells & lake' family friendly 'great to see everybody enjoying themselves 'the wind this weekend sounded like a freight train loved it' my family and I we're sorry to leave 3rd visit here""
Perfect site in a wonderful location. The owners were friendly and welcoming and happy to show our 2 yr old around the farm. Essentials available at the farm and everything else from village shop 2 min drive away. It’s a perfect base for all outdoor activities. Can’t speak highly enough of the site. We will be back. Thank you so much

I've been visiting this site for many years and never had an issue other than I wished I could stay longer. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and the site is perfect. No frills but it has everything you need so its easy on the pocket! The location is idyllic and provides easy access to the lake and mountains. Nice and quiet in the evenings, which is a real plus if you want a refreshed early start in the mornings.
My first choice lakes campsite every time,
Hi we have been camping at gillside farm campsite since the 26th may to the 30th may 2016 we had an excellent time here as there were 4 adults 2 kids and 2 dogs, we have never been here before but will be definitely be coming back, the only downside we had with the kids was there was no play area for them when there got bored, apart from that location and cleanes of the site was spot on! The price of the site for 4 nights we paid £75 was excellent, will be definitely tell friends and family about this campsite at gillside farm.
Brilliant place and a pleasure to stay at. Great walks from the site, local pubs all good and ideal for the ferry for even more walking routes.
Best place in the lakes as far as I'm concerned. First ever visit was 1972. Only missed a few years from then until now....
Been here a couple of times. The views in every direction are just breathtaking.
Plenty of walks ir drives to go on.
Three pubs in tge village (5 min walk).........in fact I can't wait to get back there.
Been coming here since I was in the Silver Cross pram, you'd think there would be plenty holes for your tent pegs by now lol. Was like going to your Grans when I was a kid, lovely family (so long as you behave yourself lol) Camped here, caravaned here, bothied here, helped out here, love this place (y)
We stayed here last week and it was a lovely place to stay. It was quiet and tidy with good facilities. We stayed in our caravan with our 15 month old and dog and had no issues. There's nothing to do on site however there are some lovely walks right on the door step and the ladies at reception were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend for touring or static caravanning and camping.
