Godalming Parish

I'm pleased to say that Mary Keech has offered to run this page. I hope she'll receive the support from the parish that she needs. If you see a role for this page it could be helpful if you discuss the idea with Rev Jane Vlach or someone on the PCC.

As I no longer consider myself to be a member of either of the churches in Godalming parish I think it is time to relinquish my duties as administrator. I did discuss the matter with Sarah and Jane last Autumn and I was waiting for the church to be in a position to take over the responsibilities. However, this has not happened so far. I'm not sure what will happen to this post once I have removed myself as admin, so I shall wait a couple of days before doing so.

This seems like a great idea for anyone who feels they already have enough. I would suggest you check what your local food bank needs first, though, and make your donation a week before Christmas so people have time to collect for the festivities, unless your food bank takes fresh items.
Likewise if you find you’ve bought too much of something that won’t last beyond Christmas you could donate it to the Community Fridge before Christmas - check Citizens Advice Bureau pre- Christmas opening times.

Who would such a young person be able to turn to in Godalming parish, and how would they know?

Tomorrow is Peace Sunday, a good time to consider how we can work to build peace as individuals and as church communities.
