Stephen Parker-Broad – Partner /Creative Director

Born and raised in the quiet town of Liskeard, Cornwall; Stephen’s passion for music began at an early age where he was inspired to learn the clarinet. This education of music continued throughout his personal and his secondary school life, where he joined the school’s Jazz and stage bands, as well as actively being involved in the local music scene whenever he could.

At the age of seventeen, while Stephen undertook A-level disciplines, he was encouraged to enter the 2009 Plymouth young composer of the year award, winning the competition with the judges’ critical acclaim from the onset. Learning to play the guitar as well as the piano during this time, Stephen also became fluent in the use of studio software, such as Cubase and Logic, as well as industry recording practices.

After completing his A-level examinations, Stephen went on to briefly study Digital Music and Sound Art, at the University of Brighton, Sussex, England. Although gaining highly acclaimed results, and reputation from the senior lecturing staff, he felt the University of Chichester’s acclaimed Music BA (hons) course would develop his compositional skills further, and so in 2010 Stephen made the decision to transfer directly in to the second year.

During his final year of undergraduate study, Stephen has composed for two short films, 'Deja vu' a student production of a surreal drama-horror and 'Fine Art', a short film about a muse by the fantastic David Burtonwood. 'Fine Art' was such a success that it was selected to screened at the film festival Shorts: Cut 2013 and in doing so potentially securing it it a Best Film nomination at this year's News Guide Awards too. Following the success of this film, Stephen was asked to compose for the full feature length film 'Our Last Summer', which is still currently in the process of being screened at several venues and has received positive acclaim so far! Stephen continues to collaborate with the directors of the films he composes for ensuring a creative partnership is established.

Stephen now currently resides in Chichester, having finished studying for his degree in music composition, which involved writing for multiple genres and styles, from Baroque and Classical to Modernist and ‘Sound-design’ forms of music. Stephen’s real passion for music takes the form of composition for film and multimedia platforms, to which he is a successful applicant to post-graduate study in Composing for Moving images and thus shall be constantly evolving and honing his craft.
