Hare Farm Hideaways

About Hare Farm Hideaways

Oast house and shepherd's hut self catering holidays nr Rye, East Sussex.

Hare Farm Hideaways Description

Tucked out of the way in a stunning and unspoilt rural setting, our Oast and Shepherds Hut are beautiful, unusual holiday homes, located just a short drive from the sandy beaches of East Sussex and its historic towns of Rye, Battle and Hastings.

As a 5* Gold Award property (Visit England’s accreditation), enjoy the luxury and rare features of our 3 roundel oast house (sleeping 12), which has recently undergone a painstaking restoration and conversion programme, and is now a spacious, contemporary, stylish place to spend a special holiday or short break.

Or for couples seeking a unique “glamping” experience, we have a new shepherd’s hut located in its very own beauty spot on the working sheep farm.

We are deeply passionate about preserving our very own slice of the beautiful English countryside. Both the Oast and Hut remain humbled by their authentic origins, blend into the landscape and offer low-impact holiday experiences.

The views from both the hut and the oast are incredible. The accommodation is fabulous. Seeing is believing.

This is what bank holidays are made of. Firepit supper + blue skies + not a soul in view. Camber sands was “full” today. There’s a crazy world beyond the Brede valley. We won’t be going there. #happybankholiday #weekendvibes #barbecue #valleyview #firepit #summerholidays #staycation #luxurylifestyle #oasthouse #farmstay #relaxathome

Originally fitted to the top of the kiln roof, oast cowls allowed hot air to be drawn through the hops and out through the roof of the oast house. Designed to keep the kiln waterproof, the cowl also turned in the wind to ensure the clearest path for the hot air.

The rain has stopped, the sun is out ☀️and everything is ready for the shepherd’s hut guests.

Winchelsea Beach is just a fifteen minute drive from Hare Farm. A quiet place for a swim and relax on a hot day and running alongside Pett Pools (dug out in the 1940’s for the sea defence) perfect for bird watching where you can see a wide variety of waders, several duck species and reedbeds with Bearded Tits.
