A transit of the planet Mercury accross the Sun will be visible from the UK on the 11th November 2019, the transit begins at 12.35 and continues right through to sunset. These rare events are easily viewed with even the most modest telescope as long as it is equipped with a safe Solar filter.
This is a great opportunity to view or image the transit being visible for most of the day it also allows us the best chance of a clear spell!
We recommend using Baader Solar Film on telescopes, cameras or binoculars where a dedicated filter is not available.
