Haywards Heath Town Council, in partnership with Mid Sussex District Council and with West Sussex County Council approval, is embarking on an exciting new project to 'green' South Road.
Thirty Six trees: birch, cherry and dwarf maple, are to be placed in planters along both sides of the road. The project has been funded by Haywards Heath Town Council and Mid Sussex District Council and aims to give a real uplift to the South Road retail quarter. The Town Council will be maintaining the trees and we hope, weather permitting, to have the planting finished by the 19th October. Once the work has been finished and the trees have settled in to their new surroundings next Spring, South Road will feel more inviting for residents, making Haywards Heath an even better place to live and work!

The Mayor and members of the Haywards Heath Twinning Association were delighted to attended the Ville de Bondues Twinning Anniversary celebrations this weekend to celebrate the 20 year twinning anniversary between our two Towns.
The weekend's activities saw the inauguration of the Square d'Haywards Heath which now stands proudly close to the Town Hall in Bondues, France. The Mayor particularly enjoyed some beautiful singing from local school children, music from the rousing ...Bondues Town band and a concert by Angie Palmer. Cllr Knight proudly gave a speech in French thanking the Mayor and people of Bondues for their wonderful hospitality and ongoing friendship. The signing of a new Declaration of Twinning was then signed 20 years after the signing of the original one. The events culminated with a wonderful luncheon with the Bondues Jumelage (Twinning Association) and fond farewells were said.
