Traveling with kids can be such a joy. It can also be chaotic. While electronics can be so entertaining, sometimes the very best part about a vacation is the simple process of getting ā€œunplugged.ā€ See our tips how to keep kids entertained while travelling.

We only stayed for one night and everything was perfect. At breakfast we were greeted with good manners and made to feel very welcome. Evening meal was well worth the money and our waiter was a very professional and well mannered young man very good at his job. Receptionists, once again very helpful and polite. Clean room and comfortable beds with tea and coffee making facilities which we very much appreciated after travelling for 8 hours. We shall certainly stay here again and would recommend it to others.

User

Its a handy place to stay if you cant make it to the last Gatwick Express Train. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast fairly good. Will return if I have a very early flight or if I arrive late again

User

Had a very nice experience. The staff were all so helpful and courteous. Loved the way they maintained the old rooms which made it more cozy. Definitely would recommend this place to my friends.

User

We decided on this hotel because it was close to airport. We went for buffet meal but must warn you it is Ā£25 a head which I thought was expensive, food was ok nothing special. Service slow, friendly enough staff at restaurant & reception. Will use again.

User

My flight was delayed by 24 hours and this was the hotel the airline picked. The Hilton did a great job of taking care of me. Stored my bags for the day while I went into London. And kept my food cold in their fridge. Had a great buffet dinner and breakfast. So much to choose from. Beds were really comfy. And the room was spacious.

No facecloths in the bathroom tho and their was a strong cigarette smell coming from somewhere! Not too sure if my room was above a staff smoking area!!

But otherwise everything was great ļæ½

User

Checked in on line so arrival couldnā€™t have been easier. Was greeted with our key and walked straight to the room. Perfect location for arrival by train and 5 minute walk to terminal. Plenty of food choice If a tad expensive. Only downside was lack of heating-it was snow and frost outside and we had to endure noisy hot air heating to keep warm. Turned it off to sleep and woke up freezing. I guess itā€™s same in summer with the noise from the air con.

User

The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Shower temperature Was like warm and room service was bad. This one has more options than the Garden Inn @ Heathrow but I had a better experience at that hotel than this one. I would stay again only because it was convenient to leave from this hotel if you have an early morning flight and donā€™t want to be traveling at 4 am

User

The Hotel is comfy but needs updating. Our double deluxe room wasn't deluxe by any means. The sink in our room was cracked & the plug didn't seal in the plug hole so water drained away. I did bring this up by way of filling out a comment card at the start of our holiday but I chose the same room on return & nothing had been done. I also advised that the shower head needed descaling & this wasn't as bad on return. There was also toothpaste in the sink but I cleaned this myself in 2 secs & didn't bother reporting it. We are always comfy & sleep well here but we do feel that Premier Inn have a higher standard of cleaning, but for us, this hotel is more convenient.

User

Stayed here last night on business, its good but nothing special. I have stayed at a couple of Hilton hotels expecting something a lot better than I have received. The bed is extremely comfy and was the best part of my stay. Apart from that, the tv was extremely and painful slow and the channels took ages to change over. Picture not great. The hot water in the shower trickled out. You got limited supplies of bathroom essentials. The carpets are stained in the room and corridors and furniture worn. It looks nice on arrival but once passed initial viewing it deteriorates from here. I am afraid Premier Inn in the UK have taken over and Hilton seem to have lost their way a bit and are just like any other hotel chain. Don't get me wrong, its fine but just feel it should be better. Like others have said I don't see how they call them Premier rooms or whatever they are called, I think its just another name they use to be better than they are. To bring them in line with better performing out chains out there. If updated, it could be amazing.

User

Nice welcome. Room acceptable with comfortable beds, but fixtures and fittings a little old and tired, especially in the bathroom. Experienced a fire evacuation in the early hours of the morning, but I felt it could have been managed better. A few members of staff stood in the main hotel entrance ( in the warm) handing out emergency blankets, but only to customers who left that main entrance, those who exited elsewhere were not assisted with blankets, but we're directed out the building by workers. Assembly point a little chaotic, with people grouping near the entrance, rather than moving away from the hotel as they should have been directed. Although the evacuation was not the hotels fault, there was little to no effort to apologise for any inconvenience, although they did provide written leaflets explaining the cause of the incident, which were left at the reception desk area.

User

A nice hotel but in need of a make over, there were rusty fittings in our bathroom and plenty of long dark hairs on the floor, which neither my partner or I have. As it's a large, busy hotel it's also fairly noisy.

User

The only really good thing about this hotel was the proximity to the airport. Despite it being -6 outside there was very little sleep to be had as the air conditioner didnā€™t work and the heating was outrageously hot. The fam they provided was as loud as one of the jets from outside. Worth staying somewhere comfortable and paying for the cab to the airport if you need a good nights sleep before the flight.

User

One night stay after a return from holiday. Good welcome. Was offered an upgrade to executive room in the new glass wing. A long walk to the room and confusing layout. Room was clean but stains on the carpet. Noisy with planes landing and taking off so little sleep. Breakfast was included but seemed not to show in the Garden restaurant. Finally they agreed. Not a patch on the Hilton doubletree at North terminal. Wouldn't choose it if others available.

User

A member of female staff was rude, room was way too hot and air conditioning not working well, and God help you if you wanted an in room sandwich cos it would have cost Ā£14 plus Ā£5 tray service! Had a better night at Premier Inn!

User

Very disappointed with the room. If what we stayed in was deluxe then I wouldnā€™t want to stay in a standard!. Room was too hot air con rubbish. No drink facilities in room. Very tired and dated. Booked it because of the brand extremely poor effort on behalf of Hilton. I could go on but it seems quite a few people have covered the other bad points. Wonā€™t be using this hotel again I recommend the premier inn close by.

User

Utterly rubbish hotel, inflicts damage on the Hilton brand. Grim overcrowded central bar thatā€™s like something out of the 70s. Naff cheaply furnished sports bar again overcrowded. Bar service was appalling, some customers served, some totally ignored (us). Slow lifts, waits could be ridiculous. Room disgusting, stinking shower curtain. Shower pipe had a huge rent in the side, no flow through head, obvious to any cleaner and quick to replace, clearly they canā€™t be bothered. Early morning checkout with all staff disappeared, itā€™s like the Marie Celeste at that time. Clearly the attitude to customers is that you have to be on the airport and therefore you will put up with all this. Never again for me Hilton, Iā€™ll use another thanks!

User

Room was shabby with stained chair & toilet flush broken. 2nd time Iā€™ve stayed in 2 weeks but wonā€™t be back. Expensive for what it is & heard other complaints about the room cost plus over the top breakfast price which I did not take. Courtyard needs weeding & lots of TLC needed. On this occasion desk staff were very pleasant.

User

Noone was answering the phone for assistance with luggage, we waited 20 mins to check-in due to a long queue, the hotel needs an urgent refurbishment, noone answers the phone at times and you have to walk to reception to say what you need. The rooms are small and you can see they have not been renovated for decades. The hotel gives the impression of a Bulgarian hotel from the communism period.

User

Disappointed with the lack of maintenance in the room and the disinterest of some of the staff. The offering in the executive lounge is nowhere as good as it used to be! The convenience of the location is the only plus!
