There were a couple of occasions when we almost launched the sat nav out of the car window! (But we couldn’t as it was on loan!) If we’d heard ‘take a U-turn where possible’ one more time we might have done!!! 😖 🤣

We’ve arrived in Vegas at last! Dumped the hire car and checked into The Cosmopolitan. Fab, fab hotel right in the centre of The Strip! Relaxed by the pool after a very busy 12 days and took in all the sites of Vegas. People watching is entertainment in itself! 😆 So many great restaurants, shows and activities - you could stay a month and experience only a fraction. My lads went to a shooting range which they loved and we all took the helicopter over the Grand Canyon. Wish we had more time but alas work beckons! 😖🙁 Next time - Cirque du Soleil, abseiling down Stratoshpere and Zip Wiring down Freemont Street. Next stop: POULTON! 😩

The final road trip - Santa Monica to Vegas! 4 HOURS! We knew it was going to be a long and monotonous journey. I think the photos bear this out! A nice stop half way is the famous Peggy Sue’s 50s Diner. Restored and preserved in it’s original 1950s state, displaying an extensive array of movie and tv memorabilia as well as serving up great food!

Arrived Santa Monica. Approx travel time 2 hours - according to say nav! Official time - nearer 3.5 hours, a few wrong turns 😖 and some expletives!! 🤣Could’ve stayed in LA but SM is a better location for a base and only 20-25 minutes out. We strolled along ‘Muscle Beach’ and on to the famous pier - quite an entertainment! Lots of bronzed beach bodies working out and flexing their muscles, people tight rope walking and swinging from apparatus on the beach front! Watch out... for the bikes and scooters which seem to be everywhere! You can’t come here without doing the typical LA and Hollywood site-seeing tour! There are lots of tours available but none of them fit with our schedule so we hired a driver for 3 hours. Would recommend. Very knowledgeable and so acccommodating. Took us to all the major holiday spots and some! As our guide has lived in the area all his life he knew how to get the optimum photo opps and avoid the mainstream tourist traffic. ... And of course we tried out Universal Studios Hollywood. All the latest movie simulation movies and special effects. Great day out. But so so hot!☀️☀️ Next stop - Vegas Baby!! 🤣

Arrived in Santa Barbara. Lovely seafront views. Beautiful walk, along the promenade filled with palm trees, into the town and onto the pier. We enjoyed a fab meal in Blackbird at the Hotel Californian and also Convivo at the Santa Barbara Inn. While we were dining one evening there was lovely music in the background. There was an elderly man sat on a bench by the road playing his flute all evening. When we made enquiries, he wasn’t employed, he wasn’t asking for donati...ons, he just comes into town in the evening,sits on the bench by the bus stop and plays his flute - because it’s what he likes to do. How lovely! .... Also, you can’t go to the West Coast and not surf! I had my first surfing lesson and I’d do it again. (Sorry, no photos as I was too busy trying to stay afloat!) Loved it. Great atmosphere! Next stop: Santa Monica.

So, on route to Pismo Beach and on to Santa Barbara from Carmel.... The coast road - Highway 1 - had been closed for months due to a landslide but we were so lucky as it opened 2 days before our journey! The route takes slightly longer than Highway 101 but is so worth it. Passed over the famous Bixby Bridge. Stunning views of the beautiful white sandy beaches and rolling waves. At times we drove through the forest areas and also vineyards which were equally breathtaking. Unfortunately we were short of time so the few photos I have (taken from a moving car as I didn’t dare ask to stop!) do not do the drive justice. There are lots of Vista Points where you can stop to capture the views as well as places to stop for refreshments. Well worth the additional hour! Approx time: 4 hours.

Next stop SANTA BARBARA but we made a couple of stops on route. Firstly we headed to the lovely Carmel By The Sea. Only 15 minutes from Monterey and we’ll worth a visit and I think an overnight stay if you have time. We took the coast road from Monterey and then via Pebble Beach and the Del Monte Forest. Really great scenery. Carmel is a lovely arty town full of galleries, restaurants and great architecture. Unusual fact: Carmel is also known for several unusual laws, i...ncluding a prohibition on wearing high-heel shoes without a permit, enacted to prevent lawsuits arising from tripping accidents caused by irregular pavement!!!
Our second stop was to Pismo Beach. Here we did quad biking on the vast expanse of sand dunes. It was surreal seeing many, many huge RVs parked up on the shoreline and people driving along the beach as if it were a road. SORRY - no photos of Pismo as I was too busy concentrating on not getting stuck in the sand! Was a really thrilling experience that I’d definitely do again!

Monterey was great. Stayed at the Portola Hotel and Spa near Old Fisherman’s Wharf. Great views. Fab choice of food yet again but Clam Chowder a must! Great to see the seals relaxing in the sun!

What can I say as always Lisa really knows how to exceed expectations. Right for the start it was seamless from booking our business flights right to to the hotel door such a professional team that’s why we keep coming back xxx . After a wonderful flight to Tenerife Lisa McGovern had booked us in the Penthouse suite the only one in the Hard Rock Hotel in Rock Star Suite we we’re greeted at the airport by a luxurious transfer with lovely cold drinks on offer in the car. Arriving at the hotel we were swiftly escorted to the 13 floor for our exclusive check in and to meet our butler (another plus) we were issued with rock royalty arm bands that had a chip inside so we were able to open our suite doors and charge anything at all you want. You can see your bill at anytime on the huge TVs in all our rooms. After a swift check in we were so excited to see our suite and oh my goodness it delivered on every level we were quite giddy looking around. The size of the toiletries which the quality is amazing the beds and rooms amazing in size we even had a kitchen area wine fridge and beer and soft drinks in the next fridge. Not really needed as the rock royalty lounge is on our floor a few steps away from our suite they serve everything from soft drinks to champagne and top quality spirits and plenty of food/tapas from 7pm onwards the quality of food and drinks are excellent. We usually stay in the Ritz Abama in Tenerife and honestly this is far better I am so glad Lisa found this for us. There is so much space around the pools and big double beds to spread out and sunbathe with amazing views. We ate in the steakhouse the tapas restaurant, sports bar and poolside food all were outstanding they have really good chefs. Every evening a different plate of treats arrived in our suite oh not forgetting the complimentary bottle of champagne when we arrived was a nice touch. All in all no expense spared at this hotel we will defiantly be back!! Ps Bose speakers in the bedrooms connect easily to your phone music is great xxx thanks Lisa McGovern and holiday explorer xxxx

We wanted a 2 week family holiday to Italy for 10 people staying in a villa with car hire. A lot of money so I didn't want to risk trying to sort all the component parts on the internet. Lisa had been recommended so I rang her and explained what we needed. She sorted everything down to the fine details and even got the price of the villa cheaper than I could. We honestly cant thank Lisa enough! The service she provided was 5* from start to finish! My now husband and I got married in Mauritius last month..all with a HUGE help from Lisa of course! She went through all the legalities of the marriage and helped us step by step with all the documentation! It really couldn't have been any easier! So stress free! The Mauricia Beachcomber hotel was beautiful and the staff were amazing! They were incredibly helpful and tended to our every need! Upon arrival, we were introduced to Guylaine - our Wedding Coordinator who was wonderful! The ceremony was beautiful and SO stress free - exactly what we wanted! While im Mauritius we went on 2 trips: The Wild Colours which you are driven round the island and into the National Park and One Love boat trip! They were AMAZING! We couldnt recommend enough! To anyone who is planning a wedding abroad, or simply wanting a nice holiday, i would really recommend booking through Lisa and staying in one of the multiple Beachcomber hotels on the island!

We booked to go to Rome as it was a city we always wanted to visit. Lisa found us a great hotel in an excellent location and couldn't be helpful enough with booking extras like excursions for us.

Amazing service.

This review is coming about 6 months late but it isn’t any less heartfelt! The short story is Lisa is amazing, she took all the stress out of finding the perfect honeymoon and organised it to a T! She got us an amazing deal in Mauritius at Canonnier. We felt like our fairy godmother had waved a wand and set everything in motion! We had an amazing time and can’t recommend the hotel enough either!

The long story: We met Lisa a couple of times when doing the rounds at local wedding fairs she was always lovely, smiley and happy to give out her brochures so when deciding on a honeymoon got too stressful we turned to Lisa. We had no idea where we wanted to go, what to do or how much we might need to spend to get a holiday that felt “a little more special” than a standard holiday. Lisa did not disappoint after listening to us, guiding us and putting up with us being horribly indecisive she landed on the perfect honeymoon for us! It feels like Lisa knows us and gets us, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and I don’t think I’ll ever try to book a holiday without her again!

Just returned from what can only be described as an amazing holiday in Mexico. Stayed at the Occidental at Xcaret and can not recommend this hotel enough, staff, food, drinks were all fantastic. We also included in our holiday passes to Xcaret for the duration… again I would highly recommend, there is so much to do, I think we visited Xcaret five times. Considering the cost to go in for one day is practically the same as what we paid to have it included in our entire holiday it’s a very good deal. Can not thank Lisa enough…. Can’t wait to get another holiday booked.
