Well done to Peter & Lee (isn't that a name of a 70's pop duo) for making it to HGF for their 1st 24 hour session. This is just one of the many beauties Lee caught through the night. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Unfortunately we had to ask someone to leave the fishery today due to using braided mainline and not having an alternative. We’d much rather everyone be able to fish because all rules are adhered to. All rules are there for good reason and are there only for the safety and enjoyment of all anglers and of course fish welfare. If you have not read the pinned notice at the top of this page or have missed the 8x4 foot sign on your way through the gate, or the other one on the hut here is a copy of the rules. Please read them and if you don’t understand them please ask us and we’ll explain. Thank you to the 99% of our visitors for following these rules. This post is for the benefit of everyone, of course but in particularly the very few who either haven’t seen and read the rules or have chosen to ignore them. Thanks all.

Couple of hours at the lake and another picture for the photo album!

Had a great day at Holme Grange Fishery today after a crazy night catching over 20 fish before we took the rods out and went to bed. Today we moved to the other side of the lake to make way for the match guys and continued to catch throughout the whole day. The sun was shining all day and the fish were enjoying it too, showing themselves all over the lake. Great to see them all coming alive again as things warm up. We fished a couple of rod lengths out at night on the bottom ...with short rigs (4 inch) pulled through 2-3 inch PVA sticks of pellet and boilie chops & crumb, finished with 6-10mm wafter dumbbell hookers which always works great on the lake. Today we switched over to the pellet waggler and fished just under the surface, pinging pellets over the top frequently to keep them interested. This was much more successful than bottom tactics today which was definitely due to the sun beating down on the lake all day and the fish wanting to enjoy the warmer upper layers. Although the guys in the match struggled today on the Pump and Point banks, over on the Oak Tree bank we had a good 12-15 more carp on top of the 20+ from last night, so not a bad 24 hours, and it’s only going to get better as the weather improves. Simple tactics, small baits and regular baiting is defiantly the way to approach a day at Holme Grange at the moment, and is usually our preferred approach for big bags of carp. Not the biggest fish around but on light gear it’s brilliant sport. Leave your heavy carp gear at home and instead bring your float and feeders rods down, you’ll have a lot more fun!!!

Well what can I say absolute brilliant lake to get a bend in the rod fish are lovely friendly staff would recommend to anyone looking to have a big amounts of fish and if you love a sleepless night ��

I have started visiting this lake more regularly and always have a good day, The new owners have been very busy improving your visit.

Great venue,always catch,great improvement on how it used to be,very friendly and helpful staff and there’s always a cup of tea on hand,oh and I recommend the Chilli �.

Great spot to fish, even in the winter I’ve caught a good bag of carp. Lots of different tactics work, which is great if you like variety. Best part is they have a tackle shop, loos and cafe onsite!!

Fish here regularly, lovely lake. Well maintained and friendly owners who look after you. Drinks and snacks available for purchase as well as bait.

Been down to Holme Grange With my lad twice now. What an amazing place. Clean and tidy. Well run and great couple who run it. Great for the lad he caught 10 carp from 3 to 8lb. I caught 2 over 13lb. Found a new local fishery that we will be frequenting alot more.



Even has a small tackle shop for last minute needs and a range of snacks.
