Hopper'S Farm

About Hopper'S Farm

My aim is to create a visitor farm full of happy, rescued animals. This page will allow you to see what the animals get up to behind the scenes! !

Hopper'S Farm Description

I have just taken over the running of the animal farm at the Hop Farm in Paddock Wood. I am passionate about animal welfare and it is my dream to be able to help animals in need. I am taking in rescues and unwanted pets and improving enclosures to ensure the animals are as happy and healthy as possible. I plan to be open in time for the Christmas holidays.

This is Mortimer, a racing pigeon who turned up about a week ago, exhausted and unable to fly. We kept him inside where some of our poultry sleep until he could fly, as agreed with the owner. I released him on Thursday and he flew away nicely. However, he is obviously choosing not to go home as he's put himself back inside this morning 😍

So, the ferrets escaped in the night but luckily they'd obviously had enough fun by the time I got there in the morning as they were near their enclosure and came running up to me. It's nice to know that as former strays, they are now happy enough to have a play and then want to come home. The pictures are Tommy during 'Meet the ferrets' today 😂

We were all a bit emotional about this today, to say the least. This girl had a dire prognosis this time last year but with patience and a natural approach, she looks to be making a full recovery.

Some willow based enrichment for the gang today. Thanks Lisa Williamson Nutley. Even Zak, who usually has no interest in our schemes, got involved.

Some of you may remember that we took in five cockerels recently as they were due to be put to sleep because of noise issues. We don't really have space for all five so I'm looking to rehome a couple of them. They would ideally like space to roam and can only go to people with no near neighbours to prevent them from ending up in the same situation again. Please share x

Even Daisy, who is usually scared of water, wanted to splash about a bit today....

The best photos of today, including our new cockerels who were all saved from being put to sleep. They are supposed to be with us temporarily until they find nice homes but we'll see 😉
