Hi Everyone, I will be carrying on working as long as Myself and my family are without symptoms. I am available for Boiler breakdowns,gas,Heating and Hot Water problems etc. If you do need any of these services I will be asking if you are self isolating or if anyone in the household is showing symptoms and will ask you to agree to social distancing guidelines when I visit. If anyone is worrying that they have to get a service done on a recently fitted Boiler in order to keep ...the warranty valid there is no need as the Boiler Manufacturers have said that because of the current situation they will allow services to be done at a later date without affecting the terms of the warranty. Been called out in the last week to two Boilers that are going to fault codes on a regular basis. Both boilers were fitted in the last four years so are relatively new. Problem is when they were both fitted the installer never carried out a powerflush on the heating systems prior to fitting, meaning both warranty’s are not worth the paper they are written on, as the manufacturers insist that new boilers are fitted to a CLEAN system. Both systems needed powerflushing, new Pump...s, motorised valves and boiler parts due to the amount of magnetite and sludge build up, all at homeowners cost. If your getting a new boiler fitted you need to make sure they are going to be installed properly ( also need a heating filter fitting) unless you want to end up having the same thing happen. The way to tell if your heating system will benefit from a powerflush is to feel the radiators when they are on if they are hot at the top but cold at the bottom then you have a problem with sludge build up.

Yeah the end of the cold spell is here!!!!! IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOUR MAIN STOPCOCK IS GO AND FIND IT NOW you might well have frozen pipes that you don’t know about but you will shortly because they might well burst. Find the stopcock and test it, failing that find the one outside your house, normally under a round black plastic lid in the pavement. If you have outside taps frozen you can open them a bit and that way when they thaw they will start running instead of bursting.

If your boiler goes into lockout in the next few days, first thing to check is that your Condensate pipe that runs from your boiler to a drain isn’t FROZEN solid, normal weather it will be ok but with the wind chill at the moment lots of them freezing. Take a watering can of hot water and run it over the pipe until you see the water melt and run away. Hit reset on your boiler and Should restart, then send a me a thanks😀.

Normal Business Resumes Thursday 21st February

Job in Thame last week, remove old floor standing open flue boiler and Hot water cylinder and fit new energy efficient boiler and cylinder in loft space. Big savings on gas bills, two new cupboards in kitchen and lots of space in airing cupboard.

Good luck to Tring Athletic and Jack Hopwood tomorrow in their last 16 FA Vase game away against Melksham Town. Bookies and press make them big underdogs,no better incentive than to prove them all wrong.
