We just been to the horn pub , and had a really nice meal. The staff was all ways friendly
Took my mum and dad for a lunch time meal on Friday, staff very friendly and helpful, food was very nice and the cost was very reasonable, would recommend friends and family to go there, well done to all at the horns as I'm a grumpy bugger and will moan at any opportunity.
My experience of The Horns Inn was excellent -It was a beautiful day and we sat outside , there was plenty of shaded areas to sit but we chose to sit in the sun - there was free jugs of iced water with lemon slices on the bar which we helped ourselves to , the service was very quick which surprised me as the pub was quite busy - we only ordered a selection of starters as wanted a light lunch - Staff were very friendly ,polite and helpful , the atmosphere felt really good. Toilets very modern, stylish and clean -it's one of the nicest pubs I've been to in a long time ,I will definitely be coming back and recommending to all my friends and family -
Lovely pub, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Bouncy castle in the garden for the kids.
Lovely meal sat outside with the children bouncy castle kept the children happy was 11 of us and wasnβt along wait for food
Booked a meal for 23 of us for my Birthday and had an amazing meal and time , it was nice as we had our own little section
Although I missed 2 meals off the pre order it was no hassle and they got them to us nice and quickly
We all enjoyed the food and even the chefs in our group were impressed!
We will be coming back again for family occasions as it was so hassle free and the staff were lovely
Thank you
Sadly gone down hill over last few months, was a regular meeting place with work collegues, food not so good, small portions except chips! Burger undercooked, no apology, just recooked!!! Staff not so friendly, sadly will be using another venue
Lunch time menu.OK my wife had twice as many chips as me. And I had the smallest portion of mushy peas I have ever seen. All edible but it shows a lack of care or concern in the kitchen. My one big concern was they lost water supply. I heard the waitress say to a customer when she wanted a glass of water this was confirmed by my wife who said the toilets did not flush.
My point is they were still taking orders for food, how can you operate a kitchen without water. How does the chef and waitresses wash there hand after going to the loo. Money more important than customers health i presume. Info forwarded to L.A..
I had the cheddar & bacon burger & although the burger was nice & it came exactly as stated - Half a rasher of crispy bacon was slightly laughable! Maybe add a full rasher or just not put it in at all οΏ½
Went for Sunday lunch, only two tables of people in there... so not sure why the poor service... had to ask twice for our order to be taken then waited 1 hour for it to come out!! Lots of waiters just standing around not busy so the lack of service is even more astounding Sunday lunch was prob one of the worst Iβve had- ready made mash, burnt roasters... kids didnβt eat their meals as the fish and chicken were dripping in oil... will definitely not go back or recommend
Ordered 2 burgers on a Wednesday .... thought it was a good deal. So very wrong. Both were missing 2 key ingredients that were on the menu ... tables all around us were sending food back. Was chef having a bad day??? Used to love it here but better quality at Wetherspoons!!
Nice decor but food isn't really up to much. Had the chicken dish which said it was pan roasted....it was griddled and tasted burnt. The braised cabbage is the worst I've ever tasted. Overly bitter and sweet at the same time. Tastes like it's got marmalade in it and texture of cranberry sauce. Informed the guy, Scott I think hi name was. Got the very unprofessional reply of "well I love it so guess it's like marmite" watery vegetables. The only saving grace were the mini chicken pies and the desserts. Won't be going back there though.
Have been here twice in the last few weeks sat in the garden which is lovely have a bounce castle for the children all free very nice food is ok nothing special portion sizes very different from one meal to the next even if you ordered the same thing one comes with loads of chips and prawn the other with hardly any we ordered a childβs chicken and chips which they brought sausages and chips first then changed it but the chicken wasnβt cooked so we left it I did point this out to the staff but they didnβt really seem intrested he just looked at me and said oh really in my opinion thereβs better places to eat
Came here today for lunch with my mum , was so awful
My bacon was white, my avocado was yellow and my salad was brown οΏ½
not impressed
Also the βhomemade lemonadeβ is just weak Robinsonβs lemon juice with lemons in οΏ½!!
Been coming here for a few years, either with friends or for family meals. Iβve returned because service , prices and food quality has been good enough to warrant returning.
Have to say itβs going down hill, food seems to get worse with every visit todayβs roast was the driest meal Iβve ever eaten ( and yes there was gravy , still dry as and nearly inedible )The childrenβs menu seems to be getting more unhealthy too with the portions are big enough for an adult and swimming in grease.
Still a nice place to visit for a drink and the staff seem friendly enough although apart from serving the food and you placing the order behind the bar there is no service at all. Iβve also had to go to the bar to ask for any desserts the last 3 visits because of lack of service.
Please Horns sort the kitchen out! You guys used to do great food !
Very poor starter don't have the mushrooms dish is not as described and poor value , I have complained and sent photos but they don't even respond so not a place I would recommend , yet we used to go there lots of times but it's gone down hill and prices have gone up
So today 12 of us came for dinner, we actually eat here in big groups at least once a month (30 of us in august) . One of the dinners came out and half way through found a hair, not nice. Took it back and gave another dinner, that came out with an uncooked fried egg, which dripped over the rest of the meal making it inedible. They offered to reduce the cost of the meal by 50% and a complimentary drink. They refused to refund the one meal, as they had already sent a new meal. It was not our fault they messed up the second meal. This is not really good enough and a real shame as we like it at The Horns, but not anymore. Customer service is not priority, in fact whilst being serviced the bar women started talking to a guess a regular and ignored me while I was trying to order.
Really disappointed!!! We used to frequent The Horns Inn quite often and always enjoyed our visits. After being unable to get out for a while we were looking forward to a nice meal at The Horns Inn. Unfortunately, our recent visit on 01/08/17 was far from enjoyable, To begin with one of the meals we ordered was no longer available so we had to order an alternative, Beef & Double Gloucester Pie was chosen, looked great when it arrived and to be fair didnβt taste too bad, but if you were expecting any Double Gloucester Cheese you can forget it, the amount of cheese we could find wasnβt even half a teaspoon. When the waiter came around to check on our meal we pointed out that the pie wasnβt what we expected, he did apologise and said that he would speak to the chef, on his return he advised us that the Pie was as is should be, the cheese had just melted into the pie!! But if we were not happy they would change it or we could try another Pie, we changed it for the Cumberland Sausage and mash, (of which we have had before, so thought it would be a safe betβ¦.) The waiter brought over a plate with the money difference between the two dishes for us, but to be honest on the very few occasions we have had to complain at other restaurants they have always insisted a refunded of plate in full. (not that we were expecting this, but it would have been a nice gesture)
As soon as it arrived we could tell it was not the usual dish that we have had in the past from The Horns Inn that we thoroughly enjoyed. The sausages were insipid looking, had no flavour and from the texture of them you could tell they were a cheap variety, the gravy was watery and had no body to it and there was very little mash of which had no flavour.
The Waiter chose not to come over the second time to check if everything was ok but instead sent a young waitress over who unfortunately got our disappointment, we did explain that it was not her fault but it is down to the management and the chef.
We had four main meals, the one I have highlighted above, an ultimate Burger that was ok but the Burger was small and very dry, A Lasagne that was mainly pasta sheets and cheese sauce, not much meat and a Hunters Chicken which was the best option although the chicken was much smaller and thinner than we remembered but tasted ok.
All in all, the experience was one we would not wish to repeat and The Horns Inn have lost a customer and we will not be recommending them to our friends and family, A wasted couple of hours and a waste of money.
Our rib eye steak was so chewy we couldn't eat it. The waitress said the chef had a problem with the supplier but no refund or replacement offered.
We have emailed head office and the chain that runs the pub but no reply or acknowledgment of our emails.
Very disappointed as have had good food there before. Will not be going again .
