We go here at least once a week and have never had any issues with food, or service time ,staff always friendly my only negative would that not enough bar staff so sometimes have to wait a long time to place your order and no queuing system so people just walk up to bar and get served before you , need separate food and drinks only places at bar, not staffs fault as they are working so don't notice,

Good food, cold beer and tvs everywhere showing the football.... that's a win ÔøΩ

Xmas menu, food was excellent and portions were good though we paid for the larger sized options. Kids food was as you would expect though the play area has now gone in favour of more outdoor seating which is a shame. Overall enjoyable if not a little crowded but good value for money.

We eat here regularly, like the new layout since the refurb and the staff seem more attentive and friendly recently , we feel the food is good , on the odd occasion it is not up to standard but it is great value and overall the best in Medway

The star is a nice friendly food pub in the heart of Gillingham but every time the walking group has been in there you have rubbish or no bar snacks as much as appreciate you want to sell your cooked food you are losing out on business by not having enough snacks but apart from that your a good pub.

Love the outlay of this pub.. The food is gorgeous. The staff are friendly and helpful..The presecco is to die for...

Had a Christmas meal booked for13 including children. Food was nice, staff were pleasant and helpful and we had a lovely afternoon. The only problem was getting served at the bar was slow. Maybe if your having a set menu you could get bar service at the table, just a thought. Would definitely come back here.

I had lasagne but unfortunately it was not hot enough, it was luke warm as was the garlic bread! I appreciate they were busy but a lot of the tables in the garden were not cleared - dirty dishes everywhere. We had to clear our table before we sat down. However the waitress was polite and friendly.

I asked my friends to meet me there. The bar staff messed up our order so my friend didn't get her food until the others had finished theirs. The manager came to apologise as not only did they forget to process the order, they also forgot to say they had no mushrooms and offer an alternative. Later the manager sent out a waitress to take more money for our order! I usually like the food at the Star but I felt awful that I'd recommended it to my friends. Let's hope you find some staff who actually know how to provide a good service!

Food was .. ok.

Left my babies bottle behind. Called the pub as soon as I got home they said it was there and I could go collect next day.. then no one knows where it’s gone �nice.

Everytime we go here something always has to get sent back or something is missing. This time my 'sizzling' chicken skewers were stone cold so had to be sent back... the issue was dealt with and staff were great but by the time my meal had come back out, my partner had already finished his :(

Also, my partner had a portion of hot wings with a 'new and improved' hot sauce, apparently it was hotter than usual (which is great) but he said it was really watery and bland. Maybe don't try to fix things that aren't broken??

Not impressed with the food today, especially my son’s meal. He chose tomato pasta and when it came out, it was pasta with ketchup on. When we complained we were told that they had run out of tomato pasta sauce so had used ketchup. I don’t feel that this is a suitable replacement, if they had just told us that they had no pasta sauce we would have just chose something different.

Long wait for food. Had to ask for table to be wiped and for knives n forks once food finally arrived. No kids menu on table so had to go off n find one myself.asked 3 different staff members for kids pudding to come out long after they d finished dinners. On plus side, food was nice when it did arrive n kids ate well. The kids sundaes were fab!

Had to wait about 15 mins to be served... there were more waiting staff than bar staff and the food was mediocre not very hot .... been here a few times but the service is not getting any better. Personally the managment should think at weekends more people use the place so why not have more bar staff and introduce a queing system which would stop people jumping the queue

Very disappointed .......... Visited this pub/restaurant over the Christmas period with the family ...... several of us are vegan ....... the only options on the menu were tomato soup, which they said was not available, or a jacket potato with baked beans ..... as the numbers of people who do not wish to eat meat or dairy products rise ..... I think this chain needs to keep abreast of the times .........

Didn’t get to eat as food was appalling twice they took it back and still awful so refund given with a whatever attitude!
