The TV company Little Gem are looking to make a brand new series celebrating the nations' love of dance and they are keen to speak to some amateur dance schools for the show. They are specifically looking for schools who offer training in either niche styles of dance or ballroom dancing.
If you would like to talk to them about potentially being a part of this show then please get in touch with Megan Hill, Casting Producer, at meganhill@littlegem.tv

Fantastic support from IDTA in helping sort out the ticket issue for the regional Freestyle comp. Our kids are all so thrilled to be able to dance. Thank you to everyone involved in finding a solution!!!!!

User

Can't thank IDTA enough for taking to time to rearrange the venue for the upcoming competition, so our dance school can compete as we always have! We understand the miscommunication, and are just so relieved that it has been sorted! Thanks again ☺️

User

After a disappointing start regarding the Midlands area competition, I am now changing my 1* to a 5. Great communication from idta, who have made it possible for our children to compete in the qualifiers by changing the venue.... Thank you so much, from me and my daughter who is so excited to be dancing and representing sda and the Midlands.. Thank you so so very much x x x

User

Totally let down by your lack of communication, enjoy the many, many complaints you will be receiving!!!!Having spent many an hour transporting my eldest daughter to and from dance lessons for several years, to watch her practise, take exams, perform in shows, special events and to represent her dance school and The Midlands at the Idta Regional and National Championships in Blackpool, and also at the "by nomination only" Medallist of the Year in Manchester, held only for students which have been selected by Idta examiners, her little sister wanted to emulate her by taking part in dance lessons and having recently taken her Idta exams was looking forward to taking part in her first dance competition in Tipton, for the Midlands region qualifiers. tickets paid for, it was going to be an exciting time for her, so imagine her face when i have to tell her that due to the ineptitude of the Midlands branch of Idta they have failed to secure a large enough venue to accommodate all of the dance schools wishing to participate in the competition. Even after assuring tickets would be reserved for her dance school, the Principal Sheryl Pearson has been told that NONE of her dancers will be able to attend as all tickets have been sold already, Sheryl takes over 100 dancers to these competitions and has fully supported Idta in a number of other Idta events, one being the Annual Idta Members Conference in Southport. Now all these dancers will have wasted their time, dedication and effort in taking exams and attending lessons. how an International organisation could treat their members like this is such a let down, i wonder how much exactly Sheryl's Dance Academy have generated for Idta over the years. The Midlands sector president should hang their heads in shame!!! How can you have an National competition where only a select few are allowed to compete for their region. I would hope that Idta will now be refunding all the dance school's Idta exam fees and would recommend an enquiry into how such a fiasco could have occurred , i would also like to recommend that someone issues Sheryl Pearson with the "mother" of all apologies and also to her dance students. i would rate you 0(no stars!!), but am unable to do so! I reserve my belief in your organisation being true to it's mission statement..... i'll leave it up to you to look it up, in the hope that this situation can be rectified, hopefully before the competition, due to be held on Sunday June 12th!!!!

User

After a long couple of days Sheryl's dance academy can now compete at the qualifiers. Thank you to those at IDTA who have put our little dancers love for dance first

The finals in Blackpool this year at the Winter Gardens are a joke. Not enough seats so stood up all day, restricted view because of scaffolding and I thought IDTA was a 'Dance' association. Scoring teams on comedy and entertainment factor is becoming the norm now and should be looked at.
