Easter 2018
Our Showrooms at Pew Corner, Guildford, and Pump Corner, Dorking will be closing for the whole of the Easter Weekend.
We will be closing at 5pm on Thursday 29th March and re-open at 9am on Tuesday 3rd April 2018. ... Thereafter normal hours resume. Mon-Sat 9am-5pm.

Stay safe and wrap up warm - get those fires lit !! 🔥 We’ve been reading speculation that this cold weather could herald the return of more traditional, colder winters - we think it’s a bit too early to say, but it certainly makes a change from the mild winters of the last few years! It’s worth keeping an open mind - and being prepared.

Due to staff holidays we are currently short-staffed.
During w/c 5th March the Dorking showroom will be opening restricted hours which may sometimes be subject to change at short notice.

Ignition Fires – Dorking Stoves is recruiting.
We’re looking for an extra Customer Service/Sales Assistant at our superb Stove & Fireplace showroom on Pump Corner, Dorking.
... This will involve working alongside an experienced colleague & some sole charge.
We’d like to cover a full time, Saturday +4 weekdays working week, 8-30am to 5pm, but we will consider part time, adjusted hours or job share for the right candidate(s). Salary would be competitive with similar retail positions and be negotiable according to experience and capability- expected 18k-22k or pro-rata.
The role involves dealing with customers in the showroom, on the phone and by email. It involves learning about the products we sell – Woodburners, Fireplaces, Gas and Electric fires and understanding the products on both a technical and design led basis. Helping customers to choose their next fire and explaining and demonstrating the options available and looking after the order as it progresses. Dealing with colleagues at Guildford; liaising with suppliers etc.
The role might suit a wide variety of people – women just as much as men, older and younger. You must be friendly, well presented and a good communicator. You need to have accurate number skills so you can add up prices and deal with sales in a professional manner. You need to be able to use simple email program and basic word processing, including excellent written and spoken English.
You do not need to know anything about Fires – we can provide all the product training and support, you just need to be happy to learn as there is a lot of information to pick up.
We’re looking for the start of a long term position. For the right candidate there is room to grow and for progression within the company including through the Guildford showroom – but we would be equally happy for someone that just wants to a safe, regular and enjoyable local job.
The role is available immediately, but we’re keen to get the right person and we may take a little time to get the right decision - please bear with us.
We are also recruiting for a Handyman/Builder to work mainly at our Guildford showroom, setting up displays, bit of basic plumbing, building showroom areas and helping with general maintenance and deliveries etc. Full or part time. £18k-£20k or pro-rata thereof. Immediate start.
