One of our customers has got in touch with this shocking footage of a crash they were in on the motorway. Whilst unfortunately she herself was injured, her five year old son who was sitting rear-facing in his Britax 2-Way Elite came out unharmed!
THIS is why car seat safety is so important, and why we endlessly promote extended rear-facing!
They were hit twice by the HGV, once by a car and then again by the central barriers, and thankfully the child car seat done an amazing ...job of protecting this little boy. Scary to watch but amazing to see what the right car seat can do.

We went to the safety centre in MK this morning! Emma was amazing, we had a few options of car seats but ultimately one car seat that would work well in our small car! Emma was fab and put the seat in the car so we could test it and then after I purchased she installed it (all in the pouring rain) were very happy with our car seat and customer service! We will be back!

We went to the In Car Safety Centre in Rayleigh this morning and had an appointment with Karen. We bought our previous seat from there and have been very happy with it. We thought we were ready for the next stage but Karen was very thorough in checking the seat and told us we still have a while left until my son outgrows it. The advice given was excellent. Karen also adjusted both of our old seats at no cost to ensure the belts etc were correct. Although they do sell seats they are not there to make money. Their priority is definitely safety and we were not put under any pressure to buy any seat. We discussed which seat we would go for next and they offered to call us in a few months so we can reassess the height and weight of my little boy and decide on which seat would be best. I would definitely recommend them. Absolutely brilliant service.

Very happy with our experience at the Rayleigh branch . Gaynor was our lady who guided us and considering we had no idea other than for it to swivel we left very happy with a comfy bubba . 100% recommendation from me .

The staff were fantastic this morning at showing us the different options available for a newborn car seat in both of our cars. There are so many issues with car seat safety that aren’t publicised and without visiting today I would have definitely purchased an isofix base which actually doesn’t fit safely in either of our cars.

The Incar safety centre is by far the best place for getting advice and purchasing your next baby /child seat. I have been going to both the old and new offices for over 10 years to get seats for various children and Foster children and found the help and advise is second to none. Many places just want to sell you a seat and get you out the door but not here. Make an appointment and you get a dedicated advisor who will walk you through all the options and will find the right seat based on your child and your car, not just the most expensive model they have.



Jan helped me this weekend and the quality of advice and service was outstanding and despite having a complicated set of requirements we found the right seat for our needs.



If only all car seat sellers were like The In Car Saftey Centre. If they were I am certain that many deaths and injuries would be avoided from incorrectly fitted seats. Too many people just buy from the Net. Don’t be one of them. Get these experts to correctly advise and fit your seat and I can guarantee you will be back again and again whenever you need a new seat.

Rebecca and the whole team at the Rayleigh centre are fantastic. They provided a great service from start to finish. Very friendly, welcoming and supportive, listened and understood my needs and helped me find the perfect fit. All free of charge! Truly excellent customer service, thank you.

My partner and I bought our first car seat today and I was very impressed with the staff. They were so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable and informative. We had lots of questions and they clearly knew their stuff! The lady who helped us (Nichola) was so knowledgeable on every car seat and base we asked about and was super helpful - showing us how to fit two different car seats with the base and with the seat belt. So happy with our new car seat and feel much better informed about the safety regulations around car seats and how to fit them correctly. I would definitely recommend them to others and we will definitely be going back for our next car seat.

I would highly recommend visiting one of these branches to buy and have your car seat fitted! We visited the Milton Keynes branch on Sunday, Jan was extremely knowledgeable and had clearly looked at our best options before we even got there so it was a straight forward choice! We tried the seats in our car so could be sure we were happy with our choice, she showed me how to fit the new seat and made sure my daughter was correctly fitted and happy! She even made sure the old seat was correctly fitted and suitable for our son! Would not go anywhere else to buy a car seat!

I would highly recommend to anyone with babies and young children who are looking to purchase a carseat...they are simply great. Very knowledgeable and friendly and go above and beyond any other retailer. You can try any of the seats in your car (which they fit for you) so it really helps you decide which is the best for your child and your car. Great aftercare service too!

I went to Hullbridge/Rayleigh branch as they have a free safety check on. I was well looked after and my isofix base was adjusted and Car seat checked. My little boy doesn't need a new one yet and I wasn't pressured to buy. The ladies in there are lovely! I am very impressed and I'll be back x

Great service! Staff did everything they could to try to find a car seat for my 4 year old that will fit between 2 baby carriers for my twins. Sadly there wasn’t enough space but it’s good to know that we tried and that all options were explored. New car for us eventually but in the mean time a second baby carrier the same as our old one which In Car Safety luckily still had in stock. Thanks to all x

Fantastic service by the team at Rayleigh Essex over the weekend in choosing our next car seat. We really appreciated the time taken to help us the right car seat, and to confirm that it fitted our cars on a very hot day! I would heartily recommend that everyone uses this company for their car seat needs - it's worth the effort to travel there to ensure the car seat is fitted correctly.

Finding the right seat for us is proving tricky, but with Jan's help we have come away feeling clear and able to find our way, rather than confused or frustrated.

Customer service over the phone when making an appointment was good and person was v friendly. Arrived, and was greeting within 5 minutes of arriving at the MK store. Looked like a good range of seats. I explained to the lady what my needs were and mentioned two seats I would like to try. I wanted a erf Seat upto 25kg. She said one would not suit my needs straight away and tried the smaller of the two seats. Unfortunately it did not fit where I would mostly need it. I asked about other seats and she basically said if this one doesn’t fit none of them will. No offer to try other seats.

I asked a few other questions and she kept replying you need to look at your car manual. No offer to look online to see if we could fine the answer together.

I have since bought a minikid which fits perfectly where I wanted it. Not sure why they wouldn’t try this seat (which you did have in the shop)

Fortunately I do have a lot of experience with car seats due to my job but sadly I don’t feel I got the help or support I was after here. Maybe I gave up to easily but if I was a new parent I would probably take there advice and leave anyway

Wasn't very impressed. I was pregnant and took my toddler for a 3 hour journey to find a carseat that would solve our problem. We had a 3 door car and I was looking for a seat that I could put toddler in and rotate into rear facing. I was advised that these didn't exist and that I should install a rear facing carseat reclined so I could slide her in over the top. Went to kiddicare near me and was installed a Britax dualfix that worked perfectly.



Edited to add: This is a late review and I have since been informed that the person who served me has left.

Purchased a car seat from the Rayleigh branch in December and have had problems with my little one basically hanging out the side when asleep! After months of emails and going down twice there no help at all. I was told the lady would make me something to push him up and that he is safe to have his head leaning on the door!. Which I am sure is completely unsafe. It’s a experience like this that makes me scared to buy from small run businesses in the future. if I was to have bought this from a company like Halfords It would of been delt with months ago. The lady’s who I spoke to were very intimidating and no solution to the problem I am now taking this further so would definitely not recommend using them again and will make sure people are aware!

We visited the Milton Keynes branch on Sunday, Jan was extremely knowledgeable and had clearly looked at our best options before we even got there so it was a straight forward choice! We tried the seats in our car so could be sure we were happy with our choice, she showed me how to fit the new seat and made sure my daughter was correctly fitted and happy! She even made sure the old seat was correctly fitted and suitable for our son! Would not go anywhere else to buy a car seat!

I would highly recommend to anyone with babies and young children who are looking to purchase a carseat...they are simply great. Very knowledgeable and friendly and go above and beyond any other retailer. You can try any of the seats in your car (which they fit for you) so it really helps you decide which is the best for your child and your car. Great aftercare service too!

I went to Hullbridge/Rayleigh branch as they have a free safety check on. I was well looked after and my isofix base was adjusted and Car seat checked. My little boy doesn't need a new one yet and I wasn't pressured to buy. The ladies in there are lovely! I am very impressed and I'll be back x

Great service! Staff did everything they could to try to find a car seat for my 4 year old that will fit between 2 baby carriers for my twins. Sadly there wasn’t enough space but it’s good to know that we tried and that all options were explored. New car for us eventually but in the mean time a second baby carrier the same as our old one which In Car Safety luckily still had in stock. Thanks to all x

Finding the right seat for us is proving tricky, but with Jan's help we have come away feeling clear and able to find our way, rather than confused or frustrated.

Customer service over the phone when making an appointment was good and person was v friendly. Arrived, and was greeting within 5 minutes of arriving at the MK store. Looked like a good range of seats. I explained to the lady what my needs were and mentioned two seats I would like to try. I wanted a erf Seat upto 25kg. She said one would not suit my needs straight away and tried the smaller of the two seats. Unfortunately it did not fit where I would mostly need it. I asked about other seats and she basically said if this one doesn’t fit none of them will. No offer to try other seats.

I asked a few other questions and she kept replying you need to look at your car manual. No offer to look online to see if we could fine the answer together.

I have since bought a minikid which fits perfectly where I wanted it. Not sure why they wouldn’t try this seat (which you did have in the shop)

Fortunately I do have a lot of experience with car seats due to my job but sadly I don’t feel I got the help or support I was after here. Maybe I gave up to easily but if I was a new parent I would probably take there advice and leave anyway

Wasn't very impressed. I was pregnant and took my toddler for a 3 hour journey to find a carseat that would solve our problem. We had a 3 door car and I was looking for a seat that I could put toddler in and rotate into rear facing. I was advised that these didn't exist and that I should install a rear facing carseat reclined so I could slide her in over the top. Went to kiddicare near me and was installed a Britax dualfix that worked perfectly.

Purchased a car seat from the Rayleigh branch in December and have had problems with my little one basically hanging out the side when asleep! After months of emails and going down twice there no help at all. I was told the lady would make me something to push him up and that he is safe to have his head leaning on the door!. Which I am sure is completely unsafe. It’s a experience like this that makes me scared to buy from small run businesses in the future. if I was to have bought this from a company like Halfords It would of been delt with months ago. The lady’s who I spoke to were very intimidating and no solution to the problem I am now taking this further so would definitely not recommend using them again and will make sure people are aware!

With two little ones (2 years and a 10 month) wasn't sure if our car seats were suitable. Had an appointment with Nicola (in Rayleigh)and she was very helpful and great with kids.



Safety really is their thing, not just there just to sell. No one can put a price on your little ones safety! Definitely recommend.

We went to the safety centre in MK this morning! Emma was amazing, we had a few options of car seats but ultimately one car seat that would work well in our small car! Emma was fab and put the seat in the car so we could test it and then after I purchased she installed it (all in the pouring rain) were very happy with our car seat and customer service! We will be back!

We went to the In Car Safety Centre in Rayleigh this morning and had an appointment with Karen. We bought our previous seat from there and have been very happy with it. We thought we were ready for the next stage but Karen was very thorough in checking the seat and told us we still have a while left until my son outgrows it. The advice given was excellent. Karen also adjusted both of our old seats at no cost to ensure the belts etc were correct. Although they do sell seats they are not there to make money. Their priority is definitely safety and we were not put under any pressure to buy any seat. We discussed which seat we would go for next and they offered to call us in a few months so we can reassess the height and weight of my little boy and decide on which seat would be best. I would definitely recommend them. Absolutely brilliant service.

Very happy with our experience at the Rayleigh branch . Gaynor was our lady who guided us and considering we had no idea other than for it to swivel we left very happy with a comfy bubba . 100% recommendation from me .

The staff were fantastic this morning at showing us the different options available for a newborn car seat in both of our cars. There are so many issues with car seat safety that aren’t publicised and without visiting today I would have definitely purchased an isofix base which actually doesn’t fit safely in either of our cars.

The Incar safety centre is by far the best place for getting advice and purchasing your next baby /child seat. I have been going to both the old and new offices for over 10 years to get seats for various children and Foster children and found the help and advise is second to none. Many places just want to sell you a seat and get you out the door but not here. Make an appointment and you get a dedicated advisor who will walk you through all the options and will find the right seat based on your child and your car, not just the most expensive model they have.



Jan helped me this weekend and the quality of advice and service was outstanding and despite having a complicated set of requirements we found the right seat for our needs.



If only all car seat sellers were like The In Car Saftey Centre. If they were I am certain that many deaths and injuries would be avoided from incorrectly fitted seats. Too many people just buy from the Net. Don’t be one of them. Get these experts to correctly advise and fit your seat and I can guarantee you will be back again and again whenever you need a new seat.

My partner and I bought our first car seat today and I was very impressed with the staff. They were so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable and informative. We had lots of questions and they clearly knew their stuff! The lady who helped us (Nichola) was so knowledgeable on every car seat and base we asked about and was super helpful - showing us how to fit two different car seats with the base and with the seat belt. So happy with our new car seat and feel much better informed about the safety regulations around car seats and how to fit them correctly. I would definitely recommend them to others and we will definitely be going back for our next car seat.
