Nós somos a Igreja Batista do Povo, que foi iniciada no município de Vila Mariana, em São Paulo, Brasil, em 1981. O nome "Igreja Batista do Povo" (IBP) veio da idéia de ser uma igreja para "o povo" e também para "os povos". Daí veio a nossa visão e missão de fazer discípulos que são capazes de discipular outros e para que cada discípulo possa ser um missionário onde quer que esteja.
O núcleo de nossa missão é influenciar nossa geração, em obediência à Grande Comissão de Jesus, "Indo por todo o mundo e fazendo discípulos" (Mateus 28: 18, 19). Hoje, além das igrejas em São Paulo, estamos desenvolvendo projetos missionários em várias partes do mundo. Como uma extensão da Igreja Batista do Povo em São Paulo (IBP), a People’s Baptist Church - Oxford (PBC) na Inglaterra tem como objetivo a criação de igrejas comprometidas com a Palavra de Deus em todo o Reino Unido e Europa.
Como uma igreja que acredita na unidade do corpo de Cristo, seremos capazes de alcançar objetivos ainda maiores.
Para isso, não devemos esquecer as palavras de Jesus: "E eis que estou convosco todos os dias, até a consumação dos séculos. " (Mt 28: 20).

The People's Baptist Church was funded in Vila Mariana, in São Paulo city, Brazil, in 1981. The name "People's Baptist Church" (PBI) came from the idea of being a church for "the people". Then came our vision and mission to make disciples who are able to pass on what they learn to others, and that each disciple can be a missionary wherever you are.
The core of our mission is to influence our generation, in obedience to the Great Commission of Jesus, 'Going around the world and make disciples' (Matthew 28: 18, 19). Today, in addition to the churches in São Paulo, we are developing mission projects around the world. As an extension of the People's Baptist Church in Sao Paulo (IBP), the People's Baptist Church - Oxford (PBC) in England also seek to help with the creation of churches committed to the Word of God throughout the UK and Europe.
As a church that believes in the unity of the body of Christ, we will be able to achieve even greater goals.
For this, we must not forget the words of Jesus: "You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of time. " (Mt 28: 20).
