Ionian Seaglass Description
As keen sailors we have spent countless holidays floating gently round the Greek Islands. After the birth of our daughter in 2006 these holidays continued, albeit with a slightly different slant. Beaches replaced bars and hunting for shells and sea glass replaced long boozy lunches.
We soon amassed a great collection of mostly sea glass; shells seem to be few and far between amongst the Greek islands. In 2010 we were lucky enough to undertake a 2 years sabbatical aboard our own 44ft yacht - Wild Bird. We spent our time predominantly in Greece but also Turkey and the Carribbean and the sea glass collection grew. . . . .
We are now back in the UK, the company I was working for (Sunsail) is moving their HQ to London, and I find myself without a job. With a now large collection of sea glass, I thought, why not try and do something with it. It has taken me months to get to grips with drilling the holes, but I have finally sussed it!
Sea glass is stunning and every piece is unique. My initial pieces are inspired by a necklace my Aunt was wearing when she and her husband came to Greece to stay aboard our yacht. It was made by her niece and is beautiful. I have lots of ideas to come but the credit for the first is down to her.

Been wondering what to do with my leftover sea glass. Cream quarry tile studded with sea glass using an weatherproof crystal clear adhesive. Very tactile. The plan is to put them in the garden, probably on a planter or wall. Thoughts?

Well it's back to the real world for me I'm afraid so Ionian Sea glass is on hold for the moment. It's been a lot of fun but doesn't quite pay the bills. I will try and make any last minute orders.

Fabulous response to the simple sea tumbled green necklaces. Great excuse to nip to the Ionian for a couple of weeks to top up the glass stash.

This is what sea glass looks like after it's been in the rock tumbler.
Another idea, again available on leather or silver snake chain. Really tricky to get the silver eyelets to work.
So a commission of a commission. Hope you like it Sally Walsh! Looks pretty nice on the silver snake chain but brown and black leather also available.
