Can you have desserts without ruining your diet? At JD Gyms, we think we have the solution! Here’s our recipe for protein pumpkin pie!
• 2 Large Eggs • 1 ½ cup Non-fat Plain Greek Yogurt • 15oz Pumpkin... • 6 scoops Whey Protein Powder • 2 tbsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice • Sweetener (optional) • Maple Syrup and Whipped Topping (optional) . 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees 2. Spray a pie dish with non-stick spray 3. Add all ingredients of a bowl and mix well 4. Place an oven safe dish full of water on rack below where pie will go (this prevents cracking on the top of the pie) 5. Pour mixture into dish and bake for 45-50 minutes or until just set 6. Mixture will seem soft at first. Place in refrigerator to set for 4-6 hours or preferably, overnight. 7. Top with a drizzle of fresh maple syrup or whipped cream (we prefer without). It’s important to eat healthily with the right mix of protein, fats and low glycaemic carbs. But what if you’re a vegetarian and you cannot consume meat? Here at JD Gyms we’ve got an idea for you; a high protein Mediterranean three-bean salad!
Ingredients:... • ½ pound (225g) green beans, trimmed and snapped into 2-inch pieces • 15-ounce (425g) can of chickpeas (or garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed • 15-ounce (425g) can of red kidney beans, drained and rinsed • 1 cucumber, sliced (about 3/4 cup chopped, 110g) • 1 cup (about 12g to 15g) loosely packed parsley leaves, chopped • 1/4 cup (35g) feta cheese • 1/3 cup (55g) olives, sliced in half • 3/4 cup (100g) diced tomatoes
Combine these ingredients in a bowl (which will take you about 5 minutes) for a high protein vegetarian meal. You can add vinaigrette to taste if you want to. This serves four, so you can pre-prepare these for post workout lunches!

Life can sometimes be hectic, and finding time to prepare meals can be difficult. So here’s a quick and easy meal prep idea; tacos meal bowls!
Combine equal amounts of cooked ground beef, black beans, sweetcorn, brown rice, tomatoes and coriander for a delicious and nutritious meal. Add a taco shell if you want extra carbs, but we think it's fine as it is.
If you don’t like one of the ingredients, you can always substitute it for something similar. ... It’ll take you about 5 minutes to prepare, and you can always make these meals in advance. Healthy food that’s easy to prepare – there’s no excuses!

Relaxed atmosphere with not too many looking at themselves in mirrors!! I’m here every other day and for the money it’s spot on. Only slight niggle is the lack of temperature regulators in showers. After excersise I want to cool down not boil!!!!

JD Washington = Awesome! Enough benches/machines/free weights etc to go around. If ever you have to wait your normally second in the queue but this is rare, your usually straight on.



Staff are great. customers (like me) not bad either for humans, not many egos and as such great for beginners.



A few of us use the boxing section for extra training. The other day we forgot Focus pads. One PT asked another (Andrew / Jack) who happily loaned us out of their own personal supply (not gyms), however Lisa, (manager) ready to turn over the gear left behind before JD opened to see if she could help. I mean, you cant go wrong.



All staff and I mean ALL not just PT's open, approachable, knowledgable. But even the Cleaners Liz and Tanya are a great Craic and add a certain charm to the place.



The whole place is ran very well, classes run on time, the place is spotless, any concerns you just rock up to Lisa the manager, no need to book an appointment like some places.



I shouldn't say this in case the price goes up but for £20 a month......well, Id pay double! (shhhhhhh)

Just started at the gym. First time of using this name. Very impressed indeed. Loads of machines, excellent facilities. Changing room's immaculate. Lovely staff, loads of classes and great value for my monthly fee. Highly recommend the place.

Joined JD gym just over 2 weeks ago after a small lull in my training (if 5 months is small �) at my previous gym. Very happy with the facilities and there is a genuinely a great buzz about the place, even at 6 in the morning! Familiarisation with some of the machines took a session or two (I'll not embarrass myself by talking about my leg curl experience �), but all in all there is enough variation for all levels of experience. The changing rooms are always in a good state with enough lockers and shower cubicles to go around. I haven't tried any classes but reading some of the reviews I will....the spin room looks well equipped and the fitness studio a good size. I'd recommend this gym to anyone.

I’ve been going to the gym over a year now and really enjoy it, but about 6 weeks ago I decided to get a personal trainer as I’m gettin married Soon and wanted to lose more weight!

I decided to go with kirk Wilson and so happy I did! He motivates me, helps me eat better by giving me great advise, pushes me to goals I never thought I’d get to while always keeping an eye on my technique! Also been doing his spinning class which are tremendous! Some reason I look forward do doing them �

I recommend the PT Emma she is amazing! Instantly felt comfortable but knew I would be put to work for the outcome I want! Gym is great and a good variety of classes!

I joined jd over a year go and I have to say it has been the best thing for me. I have just started doin the classes and they are making a big difference the staff are great and friendly. I just wish it was a 24hr gym that is the only negative for me. Wud encourage anyone if there thinking of joining to do it. �

I join few months ago and found Jd to be a Fab gym with plenty of equipment granted I prefer gym when it’s quiet ha , I worried when joining that i’d Feel uncomftable but met lovely friendly people here and enjoying every minute i’m There staff are helpful and loving having my Pt sessions feeling the changes already.. all I’d say is more Zumba classes be put on if possible because I love Thursdays class and hate it when I can’t go another day if I can’t make it :-)

Great gym with some excellent facilities and very clean. I haven’t attended any fitness classes yet but I do have the most amazing personal trainer in Emma Calder-Crone. Knowledgeable, professional, considerate and extremely personable, Emma’s dedication and commitment to her clients needs is first class. I have extensive experience in the PT world and without doubt If your looking for a personal trainer I can not recommend Emma highly enough �

Great gym plenty of equipment, can get busy at peak times but even then I've been able to get on enough machines, staff are spot on, only thing I would change is music variation as not all of us like constant dance tracks, bit of rock would not go a miss, just mix up the music a bit :-)

Can't believe I've been at JD GYM for 2 years now. Love the variety of classes available and range of equipment. Even though it's been open 2 years it still feels new as it is well looked after. Been having PT sessions with ECC Fitness (Emma). I wanted to increase my upper body strength and tone up and she has really helped motivate me and gives me great ideas for in the gym and diet wise. Also she recommend other classes to help me achieve my goals. Recommended the gym to a few friends who have taken up memberships!

After a post op break in training I'm having to ease myself back in. Can't praise the facilities and atmosphere here enough. Being able to track sessions and book classes online is fab and the range of equipment is brilliant, whether you like to use assisted machines or free weights there's something for absolutely all levels. Plenty of cardio and a fab rig. Staff are super approachable and it's a really clean and well maintained place. Sauna is spotless and perfect temperature. Amazing benefits for a really great membership price. There are people here of all ages/sizes/abilities and the atmosphere reflects that. I've not come across any snobbery or cattiness yet and that's important in such a big place. Think I've finally found my gym for life.

Place is very clean , can get busy at times ,and parking can be difficult to find at busy times , the other night a pal required some advise about some equipment , she asked a male member of staff , this member of staff was not doing anything at the time , but it was clear he couldn't be bothered , just pointed over the the equipment area , could have been pointing to any piece of equipment ,didn't offer to assist in any way or come over and show her , he remained stood in the same place for quite some time after this , and even when I returned the next day he was still in the same place ! I asked a young girl staff member for help the other day ,she was totally different eager to help me , .

Good gym but is let down by the choice of Olympic discs in dead lift area, far too many 25kg discs, not enough of the smaller weights.
