Lots of schoolchildren came to see Jamie Reid's show in Hull (closes Jan 6th) and some took part in a great risograph print workshop. The results are so fantastic and positive. The future may be brighter than we'd thought...Happy New Year!

The press for Jamie Reid's Hull show has been excellent, right across the board. This just out from Huck magazine in the USA.

Happy Summer Solstice, everyone.

Print! Tearing It Up at Somerset House, London is well worth a visit. Curator Paul Gorman has done a great job in showing the breadth and optimism of the independent magazine scene in the UK from Blast (1914) to Sabat (now!). Jamie Reid and Suburban Press included, naturally... and well positioned on the mind map somewhere between Blast and Viz! Jordan well represented too.

Great crate-digging with Jamie Reid in Liverpool. Lots of fun and so interesting, going through it with the Aul' Fella. I feel very blessed for having the opportunity to do this. We have a forthcoming book and full museum show so there's lots of looking, sifting and thinking being done.

Well worth 45 minutes of anyone's time, this documentary about artist and writer/poet Brian Catling is a gem. Oxford resident, boatman, old pal of Sinclair and Moore, fan of steam puddings, dark corners and the underside of things, he is also the owner of a great chuckle and fascinating hair. Interview by Mr Geoff Cox Esq.

There's a great selection of Hans de Wit's extraordinary works on paper in a group show The Nature Of Things/De Aard der Dingen at the Rijksmuseum Twenthe 5th Nov to 25th March, should you be out and about in Holland. See more of Hans' work here - http://www.hansdewit.net

Here's a very enjoyable interview with Steve Lowe - one half of Harry Adams - in the freshly resurrected International Times.

CULTURAL TRAFFIC LONDON Sunday 8th October 2017 11am–8pm Free Entry Kachette 347 Old Street London EC1V 9LP
'Cultural Traffic is a fair for dealers in counterculture and independent producers to trade books, zines, prints, catalogues, vinyls and tapes in both current and obsolete format.
By bringing together pioneering contemporary publishing with vintage counterculture and out-of-print material, Cultural Traffic paves an express connection between yesterday’s cultural artefacts and the latent collectables of tomorrow.
Open and free for all to visit, Cultural Traffic offers an opportunity to engage in the past, present and future of counterculture. It is a market for the culturally inquisitive which showcases a unique perspective on counterculture’s pre-internet roots. Cultural Traffic is an ongoing exploration into the flourishing post-digital zine scene.
Cultural Traffic is driven by the punk ethic of self publishing, where vintage DIY counterculture meets current progressive discourse. Cultural Traffic presents an exciting dynamic marketplace for the global resurgence that is happening in self publishing now.
This movement is at the forefront of today’s critical voices, embracing the power of print as a catalyst for social change and a platform for expression and diversity. There is material at entry level affordability giving collectors the opportunity to engage with current social issues outside the financial restraints of the elitist gallery system.
Cultural Traffic is not just an arts fair for paper, but a celebration of ideas and expression. Cultural Traffic paves the way for exposure and engagement in radical print now.'
