Chichester Festival Theatre this December will continue their much-loved Christmas tradition of handing over the Festival Theatre to their award-winning Chichester Festival Youth Theatre. CFYT follow up their five-star summer production of Grimm Tales for Young and Old with a twist on another favourite fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast.
You may think you know the story but director Dale Rooks has a few surprises in ...store in this brand new version adapted from the original fairy tale by Anna Ledwich, with music and lyrics by Richard Taylor.
A foolish prince cursed to a life alone in a castle; a kind and beautiful girl who asks her father for nothing but a rose. One must learn to love and be loved in return, the other needs to realise there’s more than meets the eye. It’s a tale of magic, compassion and love, full of enchanting characters, marvellous musical numbers and some deliciously scary moments, guaranteed to delight the whole family.
Following the huge success of Peter Pan last year and A Christmas Carol in 2015, Dale Rooks has reunited set designer Simon Higlett and costume designer Ryan Dawson Laight to deliver a visually spectacular production. BURNING THE CLOCKS EVENT BRIGHTON - Thursday 21st December 2017 - starting just up the road by the theatre winding along the streets to Maderia Drive on the sea front.
The people of Brighton & Hove gather together to make paper and willow lanterns to carry through their city and burn on the beach as a token for the end of the year.
Every year on 21st December, the shortest day of the year, Same Sky – Brighton’s community art charity – produces a much-loved free event in Brig...hton called Burning the Clocks. The event combines a family lantern procession with a spectacular fire and fireworks show, bringing the whole city together to celebrate.
Burning the Clocks is a unique community event in which local people make their own paper and willow lanterns. After carrying them through the city in a lantern parade they pass them into the fire on Brighton beach, as a token of the year’s end. Then a dazzling fire show is set in motion, in which a massive fire sculpture is ignited, live music plays, and fireworks light up the sky!
Burning the Clocks was created in 1994 as a way to celebrate the festive season regardless of faith or creed. It is free and the route is suitable for all ages and abilities. Over 2,000 people now take part in the parade and over 20,000 spectators turn out to watch.

Jubilee Street Store is always a great place to come and spend time simply looking around. There is always something unique on offer to buy as a present (for yourself) and the staff are always ready to chat and on hand to help with any queries. I love coming here.

I visited jubilee -Street on Monday and bought some lovely items, I was so impressed I returned the following day and bought some more beautiful items. This shop is amazing, the staff are polite, friendly and extremely helpful. I'm in love with jubilee Street! Can we purchase items online?

Great customer service. They did free delivery of table I bought and arranged replacement when one was faulty.

Gorgeous shop. Some amazing reclaimed furniture pieces as well as beautiful quality Italian clothing. Lots of visual treats to feast you eyes on. One of Brightons most interesting shops! 🖒
