About Judo Club Osaka
Judo Club Osaka offers training in the martial art known as Judo. We run classes for beginners, intermediate, advanced and seniors.
Judo Club Osaka Description
Judo Club Osaka was founded in 1980 by Richard Dove, the Club is now run by Richard's son, Adrian, and is based at Maida Gym, Aldershot. The club has professional qualified coaches who can offer generic training, as well as bespoke one-to-one sessions, by prior arrangement.
We teach Judo to children, from the age of 5, for fun and fitness, through to competitive fighters from 8 years and any adult wishing to start or return to the sport. The club attends competitions all around the UK, and regularly organises trips to European competitions, for the higher graded competitive fighters. A variety of sessions are available in the evening from Monday to Friday and one session on Saturday morning.
We run classes for beginners, intermediate, performance and seniors (18 + ) as well as Randori sessions. We also host a regular Inter-Club Mass Randori session on the second Wednesday every month.
A coffee lounge is available, during opening hours, selling water, hot and cold drinks and a variety of snacks.

Good luck to all Osaka fighters competing this weekend, especially those travelling to the Scottish Open for Juniors and Seniors at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow. Safe journey everyone.
This weekend #TeamJCO travelled to Eindhoven for the Matsuru Dutch Open Espoir. A prestigious international judo event, where the best U15, U18 and U21 judoka’s battled it out over 12 tatami to win Gold and be crowned Dutch Open Champion. For our judoka’s (especially our younger ones) there was a lot more to gain. The experience to fight some of the best from all over Europe and beyond, the experience of a new age and weight category. A fantastic experience that will stay with them on their pathway to excellence. No medals this time but the team showed some great effort and potential to make it to the podium next time.

Well done to Hope O’Neill on winning Gold today at the NHC British schools qualifier, the only one from Osaka fighting there today
My reluctant 8yr Son tried it (just to humor me & prove he won't like it because he wanted kick boxing ). = 1st taster session he was hooked! The way they get little ones having fun, whilst engaging & learning to focus has to be a challenge but Osaka have mastered it
My kids love it and enjoy going. Coaches are great.
Good!!!
Good club and well run. Respect shown to all that attend. Made to feel very welcome from our arrival to departure. Kids had a great day. Thank you
Fantastic club whether you're an aspiring superstar or an attention deficit five year old; a performance player, old master or recreational judoka, old or young.
I should know - 7 of my children have been members, the eldest for over 8 years.
Fantastic club for beginners or competitive players
Excellent competition on 9/7/17 for red and yellow belts (though I did think some of the yellow belts were undergraded!), and a very friendly club.
Best judo club in country, always bringing back medals.
Absolutely brilliant and so welcoming. Such a confidence builder for young children..
A first visit to Judo Club Osaka for my boys. They had a fantastic time and the anxieties of a Dad who has a son with ASC were quickly waved away when I saw the coaches at work. Many thanks to all who played a part in the Hampshire training session.
