Went through the Christmas Walk this evening and WOW Definitely the best year yet! All the old faves but in new set ups, loads of new bits, lovely welcoming ladies on the entrance... Just fabulous. Thank you to all the staff for their efforts every year! My son and I had a really festive evening. Merry Christmas

User

We visited today with our 3 and half week old daughter *who slept through the whole experience * but wow what an magical experience it was! The Father Christmas was amazing at what he done you could tell he loved doing his job with the passion in his voice and how he was, he took his time to take photos and have a lovely conversation with me and my partner! Normally other places are such a rush but you definitely get what you pay for!, the winter wonderland walk was beautiful so much time and love went into this.

Thank you for making my daughter first christmas magical despite her being asleep but I will definitely keep up the tradition every year now

We took our little boy here yesterday to meet Santa for the first time, and what a fantastic time we all had! Such a wonderfully festive time had by all, we were in awe of how beautifully decorated everything was and the woodland walk was just magical! Our visit to Santa's grotto was so lovely and the elves workshop where we selected a toy was brilliant the choice and quality of the toys were great and well worth the money we paid, we felt like we were in Lapland. This was our first visit here and certainly won't be our last, the best place for festivities we have been to.🎅🏻🎄

User

We came today to see santa and it was amazing, even took extra time to get a decent picture for us, as baby got upset being with santa! The choice of toys was great and all staff very friendly. Woodland walk (although included in the price of our santa visit) was well worth the small charge to enter, something for everyone to enjoy. Thank for making our build up to Christmas special :)

User

Visited today with my son for the woodland walk, we were not disappointed, we've been the past few years and this has been the best loved all the different settings and lots of new bits added! We walked around twice the second time to do our own naughty elf hunt! It was dark when we left so lovely to see all the outdoor lights

Visited this garden centre and the winter wonderland with my 2 children aged 3 and 5 yesterday evening.our 5 year old has autism so was worried how she would cope in such a busy place.but omg she loved it.so much for her to look at in the christmas shop with all the fantastic selection of lights and other decorations.the staff where so welcome throughout the whole building especially to my 5 year old who also has limited speech so finds it hard to communicate with people.the santa visit they bothed loved.didnt have to que long to get in again staff where extreamly welcoming while waiting and the santa was so good with my children talking to them about what they like for xmas etc.the santa toy workshop was another omg moments for my children because there was such a huge selection of toys to choose from which they recognise.after our visit to santa we bought a picture of our daughters together which again was good quality and well priced.after that we walked into the winter wonderland walk and our daughters (and us adults) loved it.the time and effort put into organising this magical event must takes ages but well worth it.we could spend as long as we want in the wonderland walk which was great because our 5 yr old could enjoy it without getting to worked up or stressed and for us it was a stress free expereince.overal this garden centre is a fantastic place to visit for gifts or flowers and also the winter wonderland/santa.i would highly reccommmend it to any of my family and freinds and will def be visiting again soon.i wish everyone at keydell a happy xmas.

Took my 8 month old little boy to meet Father Christmas last week with my sister, Mum and 3 year old nephew. Both the boys had an amazing time meeting Santa and picking there own toy from the toy shop helped them choose a toy they love.

Today I went back through the woodland walk again with my son, friend and her daughter. I can’t imagine how much time, money and effort went in to arranging such an amazingly colourful, festive and beautiful walk.

All the elves are happy and helpful which makes it so magical for the children.

Can’t wait for next year

My family and I have been going to keydells when he used to be at keydell Avenue in Cowplain. To this day we have never ever found fault. Our favourite times of visiting is without doubt Christmas time. So 5 stars to keydells thank you for all your service and help. OOOH not forgetting the wonderful products you sell.

User

I took my 6 year old grandson to see Santa yesterday. It took a long time to queue for tickets and wait for our slot, but when the time came it was magical. Santa treated my grandson as though he was the only one who mattered and he was so kind. Santa's toy shop was enthralling and took ages to decide what to choose! The woodland walk was fabulous. Well done to all at Keydells!

I don't know where to start...

I visited Keydells this morning with my two children and my mum and dad. My mum is ill with Cancer and my dad is extremely anti Christmas, And as soon as we walked in and saw all the lights and trees, All our Faces just lit up.

I have been coming to Keydells every year since my son was 5, He's now 10 and my husband and i also have little girl now too and The winter wonderland and meeting Santa was just so magical. So many memories for my son to remember with us as a family and with he's Nan.

The winter wonderland had something for. everyone and the Christmas shop was incredible as always.

I can not fault a single thing at all today.

Kerry, You have been amazing from start to finish, with messages and making sure my mum was ok all along the walk. You are an absolute credit to Keydells, They should be extremely proud of you having such an asset on there team and as are the staff who play such an amazing part of the day.

Thank you again for making today a day to remember forever. X

User

Amazing!!!! Best Santa Ever!! Got there bang on nine and were the first ones to buy a ticket to see Santa.. popped across to the cafe had a lovely cooked breakfast with tea and toast for 4 for under £20.. then back across to the grotto.. queued for a short while then through to see quite simply the best Santa I've ever seen!! He was fantastic with my shy 7 year old who was in awe of him and his very real beard!!! Took her ages to choose from the lovely selection of toys... Then a lovely mooch round the Xmas shop. Cannot recommend enough we absolutely loved it!!!! 5***

User

We visited today and whilst I understand it's the weekend so bound to be busy waiting just under 2 hours in a queue is a bit much!the excitement and magic had all but gone by the time we finally got to see father Christmas.

Being a parent who works full time I didn't have the luxury of visiting the store to prebook tickets so we turned up at 9:45 before the store had even opened and the queue was already all the way down the hill.

Surely in this day and age being able to prebook tickets online would make the experience a lot more tolerable. The poor customers who have just popped in for supplies must be so fed up with having to navigate there way around queues of people! We were planning on browsing the shop and stopping for a drink at the cafe but after all the waiting around as soon as we'd seen santa we came home as both my children were fed up and bored and I was stressed out after trying to keep them entertained in a line that seemed to go on forever.

It's a shame as the woodland walk really was magical and the father Christmas was also wonderful along side the staff trying very hard to fight a losing battle of crowd control.

User

We loved going here for the past few years to see Santa and go through the winter wonderland walk, however this year the wait time has become to long, we got there at 12.30 and had to wait 2 hours until our time slot to see Santa, this is far to long to wait with young children, and due to its size and popularity now I think it needs an online or even phone booking service so you can turn up for your time slot rather then have the volume of people and the length of wait time, being a disabled person I also had to park down the bottom of the hill and walk up as there is not enough allocated spaces at the top and the sweet van was parked over 3 of them, the winter wonderland was bigger and better this year so it wasn’t all bad but seriously disappointed in the waiting time this year as it has more than doubled from last year and it’s only the first weekend in December! It’s a shame as the Santa’s have always been great and most of the staff welcoming and the kids love choosing their own presents from Santa’s work shop, seeing the real reindeers and animals and the winter wonderland is magical.

User

So the positives are..it's such a magical experience through the woodland walk and the santa was really good too and the kids loved the fact you could choose your own toy from the toy shop...

The negatives are..had to queue up for over a hour to get a santa ticket with one lady and one till which is shocking when this could be so much shorter if they had double the staff and 2 tills..to make small children queue up that long is hard work!!then still had to wait nearly another 2 hours to see santa!

The cafe needs to be bigger,no tables available and queues out the door

The toilets were in a terrible state, bin overflowing,no toilet roll and no hand towels

Filthy, floors were soaked, toilet roll all over the floor..needs a hourly check maybe and a sign off sheet in the toilets to say they have been inspected

hopefully you take on board some of the comments made on your page and nxt year we are able to book online because this would be so much easier

Overall though the staff were all friendly and the actual Christmas experience was wonderful

User

In all fairness the nursery side great - just the cafe was such a let down - we got there at 11am sunday morning asked if they had bacon rolls only to be told they had sold out -it opened at 10am must have been some mad rush!

User

I phoned Keydells 2 days ago and asked if I were to come into the store one morning to purchase tickets to see Santa for later that evening, could I do that? I spoke to a man who advised I could. So this morning I visited to buy tickets and was told they don't sell tickets for evening slots until 4.45. I told the lady that I had phoned and was told otherwise. She checked with her manager who came to speak to me who reiterated what she had said. Your "manager" basically implied that I was lying by saying 'I don't know what you think you heard, but all our staff know that we don't do this!' Your manager has shocking customer service skills! No properly trained manager would ever accuse supposedly valued customers of lying. I have seen other reviews criticising your manager and his customer service skills and can only imagine it to be the same person. I suggest this manager be put on a training course or his managerial status revoked as he is setting a bad name for your staff. This experience has ruined what is otherwise always a magical, faultless and enjoyable experience at keydells. If it wasn't for my family looking forward to keydells every year, I would seriously consider not visiting again. Sort out your managers!

User

The plants section was poorly laid out. The home section is beautiful. Did not take garden voucher. Cafe was. Ery expensive. Not a good idea to put both staff and visitor menus out together. Don't think I will visit again.

User

Went there today about a query on a parasol cover ( cover was completely different colour to the parasol so wondered if wrong one had been put in the box as it matched the other colour parasol it came in ) the manager of the outdoor section clearly couldn’t be bothered to look into it as it took what seemed like a lifetime for him to understand what I was asking and then when he did just said “ yeah that’s probably right “ couldn’t be arsed to actually find out and had a bad attitude when I asked if he could find out ... as well as no customer service skills , when you pay £700 just for the parasol to your garden set a matching cover is the sort of thing you want to know for definite! After about 5 minuets I gave up as had had a gut load of his shocking customer service and he was clearly not going to bother finding out . It didn’t take me long to realised I was going to have to contact the supplier myself . To then make things worse I decided to complain to the manager/ owner as he was there on my way out , at first he tried to palm me off on to someone else to deal with as he was having a chat but when he did come over I was even more shocked , I started to complain about this member of staff and that all I wanted to know if I had the right one or not , wasn’t a problem either way , just wanted to know . when he coincidentally turned up at the front desk ( I think another member of staff had tipped him off ! ) so there I am complaining about the shocking service and there this person is that I’m complaining about now next to me butting in and being lairy about it at the same time . I’m looking at the owner as if to say .... are you going to do something ?? but he just let him carry on , in the end I had to tell the owner how inappropriate it was that he was being allowed to act that way and that he should speak to me and talk to him separately afterwards , surely it’s not rocket science!! He then replied with “well he’s not being aggressive “ !! After saying how inappropriate it was to him twice he then suggested we walked to a different area where he then offered to find out . I was actually dumbfounded at how bad the whole experience was , some serious customer service training is needed in that shop if they want to hold on to the good reputation they once had .

User

I tried to call for a quote on 130 photinia plants and the phone was first hung up and then on my second call they just took the phone off the hook and left it on the side without speaking this happened today at 10:20 am I’ll be making my purchase elsewhere as this company clearly has no customer service
