It’s got to be about physical literacy,’ added Baroness Grey-Thompson of the need to start this journey from as young an age as possible.
‘You would not teach or expect a nine-year-old to do trigonometry without learning maths. But we expect children to learn sport without learning physical literacy – skipping, jumping, hopping.’
She said in her work with secondary schools she regularly sees 11-year-olds who lack basic fundamental movement skills, with some not even knowi...ng how to jump.
‘Now, is that because we are all frightened to all let our kids go out and play (a little bit), is it because we don’t have trained PE teachers in most primary schools (probably).

I've put these up because we have some great girls coming along on a Thursday evening, and just under 12 month ago their confidence wasn't great when it came to their fitness. Well here we are and you all are great ambassadors for this campaign. Go girls!
