Just like bringing home a new puppy or kitten it is important to ensure that your home is ready and prepared for your four-legged friend’s arrival. Anyone seen a flea this up close before? These tiny little parasites love to bite cats, dogs and rabbits that can lead to irritated skin, anaemia in puppies and kittens plus the potential transmission of viral and bacterial disease! If you are feeling a little left out don’t worry they like to bite us too! Scarily only 5% of the flea population are found on animals, meaning the other 95% will be found in our pet’s natural environment. It is therefore important that you treat your pets for fleas so they will not bring any unwanted guests home after a visit outdoors. If you would like more information about flea prevention, please call the practice.

Microchipping is important for both cats and dogs as this will help to get them back home should they go missing. We offer microchipping right here at the practice and is a simple pain free procedure for your pet. Call us today for further information or to book and appointment.

When the cold sets in and lakes and ponds become frozen keep your dogs on their leads. They do not understand the dangers of ice and may try and run across it causing it to break.

Antifreeze Poisoning Vomiting, seizures, depression, struggling to breathe, a lack of coordination? These are all signs of antifreeze poisoning. If you are worried about your pet, contact your vet right away.

... We have had a request to share the following post in a hope to find the owner.
Sadly a male ginger cat was involved in a RTA and unfortunately passed away. This was on Loop Road in Kingfield the evening of the 8th of January. After neighbours did an extensive door-to-door search for the owner to no avail, it was taken to Vets Now at Stocton Vets in Guildford.
We are also aware that unfortunately the vets didn't find a microchip.

Keep Small Animals Warm During really cold nights, consider moving your small furries inside where it’s warm. You can also purchase heat pads that slowly release heat during the night –perfect for when the temperature drops. Wherever they are, don’t forget to check on your small furry friends regularly!

Try and walk your dogs where the area has not been gritted. Alot of the time the grit/salt contains antifreeze too and can cause all sorts of problems. If you can not avoid this then ensure you wash and dry your dogs paws, legs and underbelly after each walk and make sure they don't lick themselves.

A special thank you to Dylan who has recently cared for my kitten Smudge, who proved troublesome through the healing process of an op. Great advice, treatment and perseverance has finally seen my kitten recover. A caring team through a stressful time.

Thank you to Pete for seeing my 16 week old puppy Harper on Friday at the Lightwater Surgery. Was very pleased with the service i received, very friendly and my puppy loved all the attention she was given by Pete and the receptionist. She was put at ease soon as she walked in the door. Pete was excellent in keeping her happy and content she loved the little treats you gave her she expected more when she came out LOL she does love her food. Thank you for answering my questions i had very much appreciated. Excellent Service :) i took my puppy down as i thought she may of had a ear infection but pete put my mind at rest and reassured me that there was no ear infection and it was just dog yeast and was natural for her. Thank you again from a worried mum/owner. Harper certainly enjoyed her visit meeting you and the staff. 5 Stars *****

SENSATIONAL and compassionate service. My 14 yr old collie, Pasha, needed emergency treatment. We were visited by Nicola from Kingswood Vets, Chobham. Unfortunately the outcome was tragic and we would like to thank Nicola for her extremely professional yet kind and understanding manner. She made me feel at ease and unrushed in my decision making and once Pasha had passed over very respectful to the situation, even helping with organising her cremation. Thank you will never come close to how we feel. RIP Pasha x

Quite simply the most wonderful vets ever - Donald rocks !!!

Peter came out to me for a vaccination on my Paint horse today, he was extremely helpful and very thorough -also gave him a full health check and was very complimentary on his condition. He was very helpful and gave advice for my husbands EDT business too. Highly recommended! Thank you!

Outstanding in all ways. The whole team are excellent & I can tell how brilliant the vets are by the way my fur babies behave. Would highly recommend to everyone. Special thanks especially to Helen & Pete the most superb vets I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

Nicola came to look after are very poorly Bailey she was fantastic in the way she handled the whole situation. She was with Bailey to the end.
