I nearly always book my holidays with Kuoni and here is why. They are indepedent and not owned by a large parent company like TUI (Hayes & Jarvis, First Choice, Thompson et al). This means that they can concentrate all their focus on their customers needs. When you contact Kuoni, you know you are contacting Kuoni and not some 3rd party affiliate who is multi-hating.



Also the prices for where I travel to are always reasonable. I have been obtaining quotes for 16 nights in Bangkok with Hayes and Jarvis (£1270 - No Transfers), Virgin (£1315), BA (£1375), Travel Republic (£1299 No Transfers)..............Kuoni (£1253 all in). So, not only do we get a dedicated service, they can be cheaper as well.



It is the attention to detail and the purely professional attitude of the staff that sets them apart from the massed ranks of oiher providers. Can't wait until my next trip :)

From start to finish my enquiry was dealt with by Chris in Aberdeen. I’ve had absolutely first class experience from him. Very patient, understanding and professional. I’ve had several holidays arranged from Chris and he’s never let me down. His superior knowledge of all things holidays amazes me, a genuinely nice guy to know and have the pleasure of meeting.

First class, high quality service from start to finish. Our travel expert Faye (Leicester) couldn't have been more helpful. Her knowledge of Dubai ensured we got the very most out of our 5 night stay. The hotel she recommended was simply STUNNING. After struggling to cancel my honeymoon to Kenya and change destination as was told incorrect information and told it would incur cancellations fees when it shouldn't have, Kuoni have now sorted it for me and are helping to arrange a new honeymoon for me! You have put my mind at rest and I feel so much happier about the whole situation. For anyone in the same position as me just speak to head office. They are very reasonable and helpful! Now looking forward to my holiday! Thank you Kuoni for all your help

Worst company I have ever travelled with

We were called by a third party rep of KUONI in Thailand telling us we would need to pay our own transfer fees having extended our honeymoon, we hadn’t extended at all, the flight had been cancelled until another 3 days later and KUONI didn’t know about it despite being told by Qatar 4 days earlier. We then wasted our final day on honeymoon sorting out a return flight and have just been fobbed off with a 10% voucher off another holiday with them, the honeymoon was a one off as it was funded by a small payout for having cancer, we really did believe KUONI would offer a service that we had paid thousands for...

We had to cancel plans to sort this out and it was the only time we argued the entire trip.

Will never use again.

KUONI also failed to keep us updated after an employee left the company and as his customers no one had taken our file on for keeping in touch, at one point we were worried we had been ripped off.

In all we lost a days holiday each, paid extra for meals we hadn’t budgeted for and had to pay for extra animal care and parking in the UK (all of which could have been sorted out with family if we had been given enough notice)

We had a very bad experience with Kuoni having booked our honeymoon through them. To cut a rather long story short, we were bumped from our flight on the return journey from Sri Lanka, had to spend an additional 24hrs in Columbo and my wife and I missed a day of work as a result. A very stressful end to our honeymoon. Kuoni were unhelpful from start to finish and following a letter of complaint would not offer any compensation. The reason we booked with Kuoni was that we expected that in the event something went wrong (whether with the accomodation or the travel), we would be looked after, regardless of who was to blame. This proved not to be the case. Would not use again.

Cheating done by Kuoni SOTC Surat. Jignesh Vankuwala is a lying person who doesn't know at all what visa requirements of Taiwan are. It is clearly given on website on internet. All transfers covered in pacage given on mail by SOTC surat but customer stranded 3 km away from hotel and customer told walking distance. wrong itinerary purposely given 30 minutes before travel so customer cannot complain. lying bunch of people. Supervisor Venkatesh Iyer doesnt have courtesy to call the customer.

Booked our honeymoon to Kenya. Kuoni's left us high and dry. No honeymoon, won't replace our holiday with anything even near equivalent. They won't even return the money promptly so we can book something else. I'd expect more from a budget operator. Utterly disgusting. DO NOT TRUST YOUR HONEYMOON TO KUONI

Avoid Leeds Kuoni.

You can tell the quality of a company by how they handle their mistakes. Kuoni tried their hardest to ruin our wedding and then argued over every penny they refunded.

So here’s the story - We wanted to get married in Lake Garda in the castle at Malcesine. Lisa seemed to know what she was talking about so we took her advice, then she had haplessly booked us into a hotel which was a 4 hour ferry ride from where we were getting married.

We went back and asked to move the hotel to Riva, but the bookings in the area had not opened up yet. She suggested we keep this hotel as a ‘holding hotel’ so we could get on with the wedding plans. Well a few months passed and I phoned most weeks, but the ‘bookings had still not opened up’. So we left it with her as suggested.

I trusted her and Kuoni, obviously they’re a company with a reputation you can trust.

This continued till 6 weeks before departure, when we discovered that Lisa had already confirmed the booking for the hotel 4 hours away and only booked one room of the three we needed. Even worse, we checked on Expedia to look at availability in Riva to find only one hotel had rooms left. It cost a fortune, but we panicked and reserved them though Expedia immediately.

Next day we went straight to Kuoni Leeds in the morning, explained the situation and hoped to sort a solution - maybe cancel the Expedia booking and Kuoni book it for us.

Leanne greeted us and said there was nothing they could do as the only hotels they could book were in the brochure. As the only Riva hotel was full up, it was the one we miles away or nothing - and if we chose nothing, we’d lose our wedding. The manager looked on with apparent disinterest!

This upset me so much I spent most of the time crying. I ended up with a booking though Expedia with three rooms I could use and a booking with Kuoni with one room I couldn't use.

We escalated the issue with Victoria Fenton, the area manager, and found the same attitude that we encountered in the store. After numerous argumentative phonecalls, she reluctantly agreed that we shouldn’t be paying for the extra room, but obviously failed to see the problem and felt she was doing us a massive favour. We thought they’d be falling over themselves to correct their mistakes but apparently not.

Anyway, in the end our wedding was lovely (thanks to the wedding organiser, NOT Kuoni Staff) and the hotel was lovely (thanks to Expedia) and we’ll avoid Kuoni like the plague.

I certainly won't be booking my honeymoon or any other holidays with Kuoni and have been enthusiastically urging others to avoid at all costs. Seriously, their reputation is nonsense and they’ll happily give you misleading or incorrect information, and then threaten or ignore you when they drop you in it. So what are you paying the extra money for?

Just use Expedia, TUI, Virgin or others instead. You’ll save a fortune, avoid arsey, unhelpful attitudes and they probably won’t make you cry.
