#quavertheraver loved hearing so many Little Notes Alumni today, performing with West Sussex Youth Wind Orchestra and Choir. Super proud of the amazing sound they all make these days ❤️🎶

We’re so proud of our recorder players. They make an amazing sound and have scooped a ridiculous number of grades this term. #quavertheraver really enjoyed his first concert today. ❤️🎶

We have our very own Little Note! Thank you for making him, Marianna ❤️🎶#quaverraver

Parents and grandparents are often asking us where they can find family friendly concerts nearby. Here's something we spotted that's happening down in Brighton in August. Does anyone remember listening to Peter and the Wolf as a child themselves?

Doors open at 8pm tonight for a New Orleans style twilight gig for our Big Notes choir. The bar is also open at the REC rooms and we are being filmed as part of their promotion so we'd love a good audience. Thinking of joining the choir in the Autumn? Come and see what we get up to and there'll be a few cabaret numbers thrown in for good measure from our choir members. First set is 8:15pm and £5 on the door goes to a local charity.

We're looking forward to running a very special Lullaby Lounge at Chichester Festival Theatre on August 12th as part of their wonderful "Ageless" campaign. It's free, but do book ahead as we expect it to be full!

Good news for anyone attending classes at the Christian Life Centre. From September there'll be plenty of parking just a stones throw away and a lovely area to grab a coffee or a cocktail! Have you also noticed that the donkey and the cart are back in Piries place as well?

It was lovely to bump into a Little Notes graduate today who has just taken his grade 1 trumpet 🎺 and a total joy to watch a video of another graduate playing "Happy Birthday" on his recorder 🥰 Do you have a Little Notes graduate who plays a musical instrument or loves to sing? If so, we'd love to hear all about it: please do comment below :) Families are always asking us when their child should start to play a musical instrument, so we thought we'd share our blog with some answers to that very question!

Come and join me for some dance music for recorders at our next Adult Recorder Playing session, this Friday 1:30-3pm in Horsham. We're currently a nonet (there's nine of us) but plenty of room for more 🤩 (Note: we won't *actually* be dancing, but you can if you want to.....)Booking at: https://bookeo.com/littlenoteshorsham…< br>

“Why is it good to learn music?”, I asked my 7-8 year old pupils yesterday. “It makes you feel powerful.” “It makes you happy.” “It makes others happy and that makes you happy.” “It’s fun.”... Good to read in this report that there are other reasons too...

"The music is really amazing. I actually think it’s easy to take it for granted and important not to do that. To be able to play real instruments in the way that Mark does is not an easy thing to do but he makes it feel like language somehow." This. ❤️

Little Parachutes is a Horsham-based company providing an easy way to find picture books that help children with worries, health issues and new experiences. Nine years on and they have over 600 books in the library and lots more additions planned. As more and more young children are struggling with mental health issues including anxiety (http://bit.ly/2KO9k9a), here's a resource which is simple, free and accessible to all. You can follow them on Facebook (little parachutes) Twitter (lparachutes) or join the mailing list for updates (https://www.littleparachutes.com/subscri be/)
