Lowfield Heath Windmill

About Lowfield Heath Windmill

Dating to the early 1700's, the Lowfield Heath windmill is a fine example of a working windmill. The mill is located within the village of Charlwood.

Lowfield Heath Windmill Description

Why not come along and have a look at this gorgeous piece of English heritage located on the edge of the historic village of Charlwood. These days the mill is cared for by a dedicated group of trustees and volunteers and all we ask for a guided tour is a donation towards the upkeep. The mill sits alone in a meadow surrounded by grazing sheep and is a nice place to simply come and relax and learn something about the history and tradition of milling - why not bring a picnic!

The remaining open days for 2014 are:
Sunday August 31st from 2pm until 5pm
Saturday September 13th from 10am-5pm (Heritage open day)
Sunday September 14th from 10am-5pm (Heritage open day)

If you want to get more involved, even if it's just for an hour here or there, we are always looking for volunteers. . .
