Visited 1st Nov.. . Had a spa day and massage followed by 2 course meal... can't fault the experience.. friendly helpful staff... spotless environment.. very relaxing... our meal afterwards was well received.. tasty and filling.. I upgraded to have the sirloin and it was cooked perfectly... waiting staff were lovely.. excellent service and a fab day was enjoyed by myself my mum and daughter

Thank you to Vesna and all the staff at Machynys Golf Club for ensuring that my mothers funeral reception was a well organised and respectful event today. The food was delicious and the setting perfect. Thank you all for your hard work.

Thank you all for such a wonderful day at the Spa. I was with my elderly mum who has a bad hip and you were all so good with her. She had a wonderful time in the spa. Very relaxing for her. The treatments were wonderful. We had the Blissful day and we went in the twin room. It was very peaceful and quiet in the relaxation rooms. The food was delicious. I had the Guenie foul and my mum had the steak. Both were gorgeous. Thank you all.

Really enjoyed the blissful package yesterday ! The spa staff are lovely and Tracey gave me an amazing massage ! We had 3 courses in the evening and the food was incredible ! Thank you

My first time at the spa having a hot stone massage with Amy, amazing massage and such a lovely girl, made me feel at ease straight away, lovely chat will definitely be rebooking with her again - thanks Amy xx

I visited Machynys with my wife because we're thinking of joining. We COULDN'T have has a better welcome, from Nick in the shop, who very courteously, patiently and very clearly answered all my (seemingly endless!) questions.

The clubhouse is of course magnificent, with a great locker room and a lovely atmosphere in the bar, the food we bought was great, we ate outside, under cover (from the sun not today's rain!), had a nice chat with people, and found the whole thing so so relaxing !

As for the course, it's in absolutely top class condition, the two nines differ greatly from each other, variety like this is of course very good, and we are spoilt for choice by the number of tees available on each hole - for men, the blacks (IMPOSSIBLE for me!), the yellows, (very challenging and fair) and the blue/greys (LOVELY - made me feel like Francesco Molinari because I played the back 9 off these tees, used every club in my bag, and somehow finished with two birdies therefore being under par for the 9 !) The greens were beautiful, very true and consistently paced, and the 'yardage book' was spot on.

Two points to finish - I'd call them constructive suggestions rather than criticisms, Machynys doesn't deserve criticism !

Firstly, there are so many teeing grounds on each hole (combining men's and women's that is) that it would be helpful to have a metal yardage marker on each teeing area on each hole.

Secondly, for health reasons, I can only play in a buggy. Nick very clearly explained to me why Machynys doesn't allow members to have their own buggies, which I totally accept, but perhaps some sort of 'deal' could be available to those of us who need them for each round ? (I like to play at least 3 times a week, £60 at least per week is a lot (I realise the price may soon come down, but a 'deal/discount' for people like me would still be fair I think.)

So thanks to Nick and all the others at Machynys who made our morning so nice.

Had the great pleasure to play 2 rounds at this course on 27th and 28th May 2018 and can honestly say it was absolutely fantastic! It is now my favourite golf course played EVER! Every hole is a challenge but not ridiculously so it is good for all standards of golfer.

The club house is amazing and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I cannot recommend this club highly enough.

You must play it if you can.

Great course . It is a true fair test of golf set in a stunning landscape . The Club house is the best I’ve ever been in it’s elevated to make the most of the views , food great and the open fire set in the middle of the club house was very welcoming after a cold day on the course , staff , food and service was excellent . Great value for money all round 👍.

Beautiful place, only went for dinner but would love to go back for more - especially the spa and most of all the fantastic view!

Beautiful course with lovely views - it’s long and walkable but if you struggle book a buggy. Personally I like walking all part of the exercise! We had a breakfast before leaving the clubhouse which was tasty and a bar meal when we returned- very relaxing atmosphere- - will be returning. Only downside on course having not played there before there aren’t any directions to holes once on the course luckily we’d purchased a course book and being new to the course we simply followed the players ahead. There aren’t any ball washers or bins either which I was surprised at.

Absolutely cracking day out at Machynys! The course was immaculate, no mean feat given the lack of rain recently, and setting just incredible. I don’t know if you can still call this place a hidden gem but I’m not sure it gets the rep it deserves!

A lovely leisurely breakfast followed by a fantastic hot stone massage in the Spa with Caitlyn. A great experience every time I come here. Feeling fabulous afterwards! Highly recommended to ease the stresses in life!

Had a lovely meal Saturday, crackers on the table made it feel festive , the staff were very friendly & helpful couldn't fault them , but it was very noisy in the bar felt I was in a rugby club men playing drinking games ,knocking chairs over , play fighting not what you expect in a golfclub , but it is Xmas party season ..... wouldn't stop me calling again as I think it has a lovely atmosphere , great place!!

An absolutely cracking course very challenging and enjoyable and our group were made very welcome by staff and members. The only down point is that holes are not signed very well and if you don’t know the course it can lead to some confusion particularly finding the 1st and 10th

Had afternoon tea yesterday. It was very busy when we arrived so expected to have wait for our food to arrive - which we did, 45 minutes. Have to say the food was very average but the setting was lovely and our waiter was great. Don’t think we’ll do afternoon tea there again BUT the chips on the table next to us looked lovely!

Visited with a friend on Saturday just gone for a "blissful" day, unfortunately so many people had been booked in the spa that we struggled for space in the changing room and also we couldn't use the hydro pool because it was constantly full of people. The relaxation rooms were also often full. The staff working were very friendly and our meal was lovely but unfortunately the amount of people booked into the spa was too much for the size of it and ended up spoiling the whole day.

I have been here many a time and although my nephew from Australia enjoyed his meal my med/rare steak was tough and I couldn't eat it. The saute potatoes were delicious and the service was good. However, when we first arrived and waited to be seated everyone at the bar ignored us. We stood for about 7 mins before I said "Excuse me but..". With such lovely restaurants in Swansea I think I'll give Machynys a miss for a while. Sorry.

Called in for lunch yesterday wasn't impressed with the wait for first course and very dry salmon on top of a small portion on spaghetti in a dry sauce. Then desert a long wait for cheesecake with Cummin on it which totally spoilt it. There weren't that many people there and had to wait ages for the bill. There are a lot of nicer places to eat and not so expensive. Very overaited, very disappointed! !!!!!!

A nice comfortable place to have a drink or something to eat BUT staff need to cheer up and learn some people skills. Happy staff make a difference in any work environment but especially in bars, restaurants, coffee shops etc. Remember, it’s an important part of your job.
