Hello, we are MADAboutSOUP. We are making delicious, healthy soup with all natural ingredients to sell every Tuesday at Sussex university campus market. All proceeds will be going directly to a charity helping improve the lives of people living on the street in Madagascar's capital, Antananarivo. The project we are giving to is called 'Sisters of the Good Shepherd' who provide food, medical care, and education for street children and a craft training scheme for beggar women. They also give basic supplies to those in prison with no food or clothing.
Madagascar is an incredible country with a rich variety of landscape, environment and cultures. However it is one of the poorest countries in the world facing many problems; due to political crisis and corruption all international aid has been blocked leaving the country in a spiral of economic decline. Poverty is on the rise, with deteriorating infrastructure, high levels of illiteracy, malnutrition and resource exploitation within the island.
In order to get our project off the ground we are in need of some donations, however small to help pay for equipment to set up the soup stall. If you would like to sponsor us please visit our giving page
