What a lovely pub, plenty of room, they love dogs and families. Roast was perfect, staff friendly. Would recommend and will be going back to sit in there lovely garden when the weather suits.
My husband and daughter arranged my 50th birthday here 19th November, the room was amazing..we had our own staff and not one guest had to wait too long for their glass to be refilled. It was so good, the food was excellent as the staff. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we were all well looked after by the friendly, attentive staff. Thank you Marlborough for making my 50th unforgettable.
Lovely spot for a feed and drink. Great service too.
Lovely big garden our waitress was amazing red hair piled on top.. made a real fuss of our two Maltese dogs they even got a treat bag each and fresh water, food was lovely .. will definitely be going back .
Love this place! Friendly staff, great food, relaxed atmosphere. All of my friends are so jealous that my local pub has the most amazing garden. Thanks to Wilkins for the great cocktails and big kisses to the fabulous Karen for being an incredible host
Just went with a couple of friends this evening. I thought the pub was stunning. We were offered a table as we arrived by i do believe was one of the managers. I have to say that the food was really good, and they have a good selection of Gins ( heaven for a Gin drinker). The staff was very kind and friendly. I will def come back!!!!!
I’ve had the most amazing Sunday roast ever here, would definitely recommend it! Child and dog friendly which is a plus for families!
Fantastic place, great location ,lovely staff, best pub roast we've ever had, highly recommended
Delicious food and excellent staff. Great with dogs too. We'll be visiting again.
Came here for a sunday roast as I was reccomended by some Friends. All I can say is best roast in Richmond. The Yorkshire puddings are outstanding. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. We will be back soon.
Thank you so much for the great friendly service and delicious food. We had a great time celebrating my birthday at Marlborough, it's a cool spot! (Burgers are divine!)
Great Sunday lunch....only problem the sirloin was more a steak than a roast....I like my meat pink but it wasn’t an option but it was seasoned really well. Would definitely go back again....if I could have it pink it would have been 5 stars...staff were great.
It's usually excellent. But due to the fact it was mega busy . It took 50 min to get our food. The vegetables were over cooked in fact soapy. and roast potatoes lacking. Hence it's a 3 star rating from me,
There's a lot of gastropubs to choose from in London . So I'd say to the Marlborough, keep an eye on standards .
Otherwise. Great venue. Lovely staff and location.
I LOVED The Marlborough before. I get what they've done with the refurb, and it makes perfect business sense - more tables=more money.....there are A LOT more tables and A LOT less vibe. The roast was very average. Not the worst but definitely not worth going back for. And the service was very slow, which is weird considering the whole of outside was basically empty.
Slow service and overpriced. Gastric pub but with waiter service didn't really seem to work and then your are expected to tip. Nice setting and has been renovated nicely but let down by cost of food, portion sizes and service.
Nice pub but really bad service. Took 2hrs to serve burgers and roasts today. No apologies until we had to keep asking and then complained. Shame as a nice pub and pretty good food. They just can't handle the number of covers they cater for.
Am I the only person who doesn't want to be told where I'm going to sit, when go to a pub?
While the refurbishment is undoubtedly a massive improvement, there's clearly been a decision to convert this local pub into more of a restaurant. Should you dare to enter with a child (even a baby in a pram) you will quickly be ushered to the back of the pub, as the front is now strictly 'adults only'. I suspect this is the reason for placing customers at tables instead of letting them sit where they like.
Of course, this is entirely their prerogative, but it doesn't fit with what we (and I suspect many other locals) are looking for in a pub, so we won't be back. Thankfully, during the three months they were closed, we found several other really great pubs, which are relaxed and sincerely welcome families.
Was looking looking forward to a Sunday lunch here. Service average to say the least. Food .. all three of my party returned out food as cold.. when it came back warmed up it was a best average at worst tasteless. Desert same I am afraid ... it was the first time I have ever left my sticky toffee pudding. Won't be going back .
Seriously disappointing Sunday lunch, beef was hot all else was cold, waited ten minutes to be seated which is fair enough, then after 30 minutes had to go and get the menu myself, ordered and food arrived fairly promptly, without cutlery for another five minutes,
Asked for the bill then had to chase a staff member to pay.
Staff could care less to be honest, a thank you or a smile would have been welcome at any given point.
