We came for lunch yesterday and I have to say it looks great, food was lovely and kids enjoyed the play area, my other half was that impressed he was talking about a weekend here in October

User

I have to say that the staff on the Marlie site are wonderful. They work long hours and are always friendly. They make a real effort to get to.know you and as a single parent of "Itchy and Scratchy " I do appreciate being able to have a chat now and again. The wednesday entertainment was good and i m sure the singers were better than many of todays popstars as they could really belt out a number. Well done Marlie park staff you made our holiday!

User

Had a grate time at my brother in lows wedding and Marlie made the evening do so spechel not just the happy couple but for ready of his family and loved meeting all the staff and loved chatting to them. Love it. If could world go and work as children's antertaniner dancing and cleaning in day time and evenings and mornings. Loved every nine of it. Love you all.

User

Stayed in a gold star van which was very clean and well presented,I think most of the people around us were caravan owners,it was quiet and relaxing and the staff were helpful and attentive,we stayed 2 nights and would come back, well done and thank you Marlie

User

Stayed here for the weekend for my partners cousins wedding who also had his evening reception here

The room used was decorated lovely for them ..nice and big with a great dance floor..the staff were polite and accommodating

the security team were exceptional

Keeping unwelcome guests at bay.

I did notice how green the park was..whereas alot of parks the grass has died or looking grim ..well kept grounds here

We had a nice breakfast in the bar on Sunday morning .. great price £6.50 for cereal.. a full English and a hot drink. Although the bar is outdated and could do with cheering up a bit

The caravan we stayed in was a spacious 4 bedroom with a lovely kitchen .5 of us adults shared this.. so we didn't feel on top of each other.. lots of sofa space too

There are a few negatives

Other family in another caravan with 3 bedrooms had a large fridge freezer... where as we had a 4 bed and the fridge freezer was very small .. although it was housed in a space made for a large one ..that didn't make sense ... the timer on the microwave didn't work the kettle was temperamental and the light above our bed was broken..

There are no plug sockets in the single bedrooms and only one in the doubles??

How on earth do ppl charge their phones..use their hair dryers etc ... and with alot of ppl sharing ..it's a fight for a socket ..I have never known this on any other sites I have stayed at .

Although the bedding was very clean ..the rest of the caravan certainly needs a deeper clean ..especially in the corners sides of the toilet and inside the cupboards...

I Would visit again .. but will take a few extension leads lol ..

I guess the good outweighs the bad at this site and leaves you feeling happy about the experience

User

Just got back, we had a great weekend but the toilet block could have been cleaner, the swimming pool booking rule wasn't explained so the kids missed out the first day and their idea of a kids disco is shove a cd on, the staff in the disco were rude and appeared not to be at all interested in their job.

The lady in the shop was lovely and very helpful. The kids enjoyed the cycling and the dog walk area. If they sorted the problems the place would be great.

User

Very dissatisfied with the whole experience. Feeling very uncomfortably in club house with residents . Over priced drinks . Two slides for the whole complex nothing for the under 2's . Life guards on their phone instead of watching the pool . Then to see both life guards outside and one smoking leaving the pool unattended . Pool freezing cold to the point my 1 year old turn blue within 10 minutes.

Entertainment staff were very poor need to engage more with the children. .

Would I return NO.

User

So upset at our visit to Marlie, This is our 3rd visit. We have visited this site twice before because it was a lovely quiet place. The entertainment was always OK and we were made to feel welcome.

This third time however, we were really looking forward to another visit with our dog, but unfortunately we felt it was going down hill. Our caravan was really nice, considering we always have one that is pet friendly, no complaints there.

However, we went into the clubhouse on Friday 13 October at around 9oclock only to find kids doing karaoke, not what we wanted to listen to so ended up in the pub across the road The Warren Inn.

Then Saturday night we went into the clubhouse again for another try and there was a group playing who were very good, if it wasn't for the band we would have left again. The clubhouse was full of residential owners who were acting worse than their own children. One particular man used disgusting language, now I am no prude, but I don't want to listen to this, this particular man was around 45-55 and acted like a stupid teenager. We too paid money to stay here and don't see why just because they are owners they can take over.

Won't be going back to Marlie unfortunately until the Management can gain back control of this place. No one wants to listen to foul mouthed thugs all night!

User

Pool is not open long enough 930-430 then you try to go again in morning before home & theres a session 2 unhappy boys. They give up with the busyness of the food orders & just stopped serving food all together 2 hungry boys. If your camping on the casual field its a long dark way to the toilets & there is never any toilet roll. Staff are friendly in the clubhouse thoe

User

Entertainment staff are not up to Marlies normal scratch, not very good with the kids entertainment, and I have never been in the club where the bar is closed in the entertainment hall on a bank holiday I think some one may have slipped up there and all the tables where still dirty from Saturday night

, pull your socks up we heard a lot of visitors saying they would not be back again, that is not good to hear.

User

Went for a family meet up, about 30 of us overall. we booked for a week in a gold caravan. The caravan was nice but little essentials like oven gloves and tea towels are not included. Our caravan was situated in among some permanent residents who love to smoke weed, just what i need my kids smelling and inhaling.

Went to the restaurant for food but they had one highchair that was in use, one! in a family resort surely you may expect more than 1 toddler?

My daughter wanted the kids pizza meal for 5/6 quid, a chicago town microwave pizza turned up, they are 2 for a quid at tescos!

We pre booked a massive family meal for the Sunday, 27 of us. The portion sizes were so small and a member of staff told us they didnt have enough food in so thats why it was tiny portions, remember we pre booked the day before, how did they manage to mess this up?

Entertainment was poor.

At the end of the day it is what it is, but for what you pay you could get a mid week break at Butlins which is a million miles better

User

Well where do I start we have a been to many different holiday parks and this is one of the worse we booked for 10 people for a long weekend and have 5 children with us starting from 1yrs-12yrs and the 2 little ones had to be in the pram all the time as they don't have ANYTHING for younger children or babies and the children's play area was very out dated and the amusement was tiny and very little worked!!!

We are very disappointed with this site and when I spoke to the receptionist she said it was a very quite site but to be honest it's really a site for owners and not holiday makers the club house is very clicky and you fee very unwelcome as you are not an owner very over priced not an ideal place for families or holiday makers that would like a fun time what a Waste of money and to be honest advistered very wrong and misleads customers to book to something that is totally wrong for them!!!

User

Spent this bank holiday weekend at this holiday park tables were filthy and sticky and on the Sunday night the bar in the main entertainment hall was closed because the staff had been given the time off as they did not expect it to be busy....... err it's a bank holiday weekend and no staff and then you open the bar after complaints????? The entertainment staff then think it's ok to get a group of kids screaming at the top of their voices as part of the kids entertainment.... yes I know it's a holiday park but come on owners pay good money every year for this it's a joke and embarrassing let alone the poor people that pay to rent from you.... standards are slipping and people deserve better

User

Spent 5 nights at Marlie this week and was disappointed. Toilet block was filthy and no toilet rolls. Swimming pool was only open one afternoon in 5 days. Shop was often closed. Other children running a mock across the camp site even stolen our children's toys from right under our noses! What was advertised as an adventure play ground was nonexistent. Club house needs doing up badly and agin toilets was filthy plus staff very un helpful! Would not recommend and would not return! We spent our hard earn money on this holiday with two small children and feel very let down

User

Returned this morning from an 8 night stay cut short to 6 as I couldn't stand it anymore.

Arrived to be told there was no allocated pitches and to go were we liked , which resulted in our electric hook up having to be run across the grass which cars drove over every time . Only one water and bin point for the entire touring field.

Had booked 2 pitches together one for 8 nights and one for 3 mid week for our friends to join us but there was no space for the second tent anywhere near us which results in all 10 having to share one tent.

Noise levels at gone mid night were rediculous which no consideration for any other campers.

No security came to check the field and never once was we asked for our passes in or out the complex.

At one point the police were called as a group of travellers had pulled in , I have no issue with them being there but all there works vehicles were parked on the field and were driven in and out all night and in the early hours of the morning all bipping and shouting for people.

Wash up area was dirty, no plugs, no hot water , cleaner admitted it was her first time coming down to wash up when the floor was caked in mud!

Toilet block always had over flowing sanitary bins in every toilet , used sanitary pad on the floors, toilet door locks broken, toilet seats missing, showers dirty with dirty shower curtains, most had missing door hooks so no where to keep towels or clothing dry, floors filthy and water logged , very slippery.

Pool staff rude, took a float from my small non swimming son as it was only for "babies" .

My one year old slipped under the water in the baby pool luckily there was 3 adults so we were there as when we turned to look all 3 life guards were sat behind the desk on there phone watching something, yet there had a pool full of children.

Pool closed all day on a Thursday even in summer holidays and when I went to book the pool on one of the days the life guard was in the pool on a lilo!

Shop always had run out of basics I.e cold drinks and ice creams .

Restaurant tables were sticky and dirty , the man that took our food order had no training on the till clearly, children's meals came out 20 mins before the adults , some adult meals were lost in translation. Ordered 4 kids meals yet only 2 children's puddings came out . Toilets in the restaurant were filthy dirty and stunk.

Only 2 of the arcade machines were working and giving tickets and run out regularly, waited 40 mins to be given back a £1 the machine had swallowed and the prizes for tickets amounts were changed , on the first night a pacman lamp was 2200 tickets when we went to cash in was told it 5700.

Park is very basic and small also dirty and outdated and full of litter.

All in all it was a awful experience one I'd never wish to repeat and a complete was of money on an over priced camping holiday.

User

Really disappointed!!! My children have been bullied and scared out of their minds by bullies that apparently live here!! I'm here on my own with my children and can't wait to go home. Up until this point I thought this was a wonderful place to stay but I'm absolutely gutted by this. The staff are looking into this situation and were very fair about it which I appreciate but at the same time these children shouldn't be allowed to do this and spoil it for everyone... I've read other reports about bullying here and I'm appalled!! Also my daughter witnessed a member of staff called Chloe who was absolutely drunk out of her head whilst on duty!! Come on marlie sort it out!!

User

Not good at all, a fight with 1 man being punched in the face by 2 men with kids around them and they closed the bar our 1st night upon arriving.

Pool was closed alot, pitches very close together no space at all or privacy.

Worse campsite we have been too, good point staff at the bar we're very friendly and polite.

Would not recommend this campsite extremely boring.

No locks on shower and toilet doors, blocked in 1 shower had to report it overflowing, dirty too.

This was july 2018

User

My father bought a static caravan on this site he paid over £19,000 he sadly passed away within a few months of his purchase and the park refused to by the caravan back saying it was worthless and to old. Complete rip off. No compassion. Disgusted!.

User

DO NOT CAMP AT THIS SITE

Absolutely horrific site. Never stayed anywhere as unsafe and disgusting ever. Seriously considering reporting the site for its many health and hygiene breaches not to mention it's safety issues. Between easy access for kids to get to strong chemicals and unsafe pitches it really is a wonder nobody has been seriously injured. My next email will be to complaints team with evidence and then the appropriate authorities.
