Loads of fantastic events for you to come and enjoy at the free Focus On Festival at Hook Meadow,Walderslade today. Four day old chicks in the mini farm, wall climbing, arts and crafts, football, dance demos, Juke Boxers and fab extreme skateboarding and cycling demos . And cake, lots of lovely WI cake. Head down to our Focus On event at Hook Meadow (opposite Poachers Pocket) today from 10.30am for a fun filled day of have-a-go activities, live music, library events, refreshment stalls, free dog chipping, a mini farm, workshops plus lots more. Taking place until 4.30pm. Everyone welcome.

Our Focus On community event takes place tomorrow (Sat, 1 Sept) from 10.30am to 4.30pm at Hook Meadow recreation ground (opposite Poachers Pocket). Come along and get involved in the many activities we have on offer:
• Mini farm (10.30am to 12noon, 12.45pm to 2.15pm, 3pm to 4.30pm) • Yoga taster sessions (30/40 minute sessions at 11.45am and 2pm) • Live music including performances from The Juke Boxes (11am, 1pm and 3pm)... • Roaming entertainment (11.30am, 2pm, 3.30pm) • Have-a-go tag archery (available all day) • Library activities (available all day) • Pop-up tennis (available all day) • Free dog chipping (available all day) • Team extreme - demonstrations in inline skates, scooters, skateboards and BMX (available all day) • Live music from Walderslade Community Choir • 50 plus keep fit workshops (12.30pm and 2.45pm) • Dance displays from The Anderson School of Dance (20/30 minute displays at 11am and 3.15pm) • Dream Academy workshop session including dance, drama and singing (3.15pm) • Refreshment stalls

Congratulations to Ann & Derek Holden on winning the Medway Blossoms garden competition 2018. They have won a £100 Garden Centre voucher to keep their garden looking beautiful this autumn. Patricia Iles, from Rochester came second and Bob Archer, from Strood, claimed third prize. Paula Tumber, from Chatham took home the people’s choice winner.

As it's fact Friday and the last day of August, we thought we'd let you know, Medway Highways Top 10 subject enquiries, received throughout the month.

Our Medway Highways team have had a busy August! Throughout the month, they’ve fixed 172 footway defects, 184 carriageway defects, replaced 26 Street Nameplates, installed 19 new vehicle crossings and repaired 78 gullies.
That’s without including lining works, street furniture installations, the scheme works and street lighting.

Twydall Community Wardens will soon be holding drop in sessions for residents, visitors and business to have a chat about their local area. The sessions will be held every 1st Thursday of the month, from 2pm to 3pm at Twydall Community Hub. Come along to the first session, which will take place on Thursday, 6 September at 2pm. Healthy Pregnancy = a happy baby. A Better Medway are running a ‘Blooming Bumps’ programme over eight weeks, covering a range of topics to help mums bond with their baby. This includes managing stress and anxiety, nutrition for pregnancy, infant feeding plus advice and demonstrations on caring for your baby, including first aid techniques. The groups are FREE and start from this Tuesday at 9.30am - 11.30am at the following:
