Milton Keynes Country Market Description

Where: The Old Bath House Community Centre, Stratford Road, Wolverton.
When: Every Friday morning from 9am till 1pm (closed January);
Also stall at Wolverton Farmer' Market 1st and 3rd Saturdays of month, 9am till 1pm, and at events at Milton Keynes Museum.
Milton Keynes Country Market is one of three markets that make up Bucks Country Markets Ltd, one of the 65 regional market societies in the UK.
On sale each week are all sorts of locally produced traditional and modern crafts, including: wooden bowls, unique toys, home baking, eggs, honey, jewellery (from semi-precious gems to intricate beadwork), cards for every occasion, patchwork quilts, jams and preserves, plants and flowers, seasonal fruit and vegetables (sells out early), knitted goods (plus made-to-order service), silk scarves and many other items.
There is also a small cafe (staffed by volunteers) which serves a selection of beverages and other yummies such as cakes, toast, and bacon butties (only 60p).
Milton Keynes Country Market developed out of the Women’s Institute Market, which started selling produce in Wolverton in September 1982.
The Market is a co-operative, with currently over 30 active producers (men and women) from MK and the surrounding area. It welcomes new members and is a friendly and supportive environment.
It costs just 5p to become a member and the market retains 10% of sales to cover overheads. So if you don't sell anything, there's no fee.
Members are encouraged to bring their wares every week and help with setting-up, serving etc. Because the Market functions as a co-operative team, there are no stalls for independent or business traders.
The Market is always willing to runs stalls at other events, Fetes, Schools, Vaccination days, Churches, Fairs etc, and welcomes all enquiries.
