LESSONS: Based in and around Brighton, I offer individual and group instrumental tuition on fiddle (Celtic and North American styles mostly), guitar, mandolin, banjo, lap dulcimer and live looping in performance.
Acoustic / folk ensemble coaching also available.
Teaching from home studio (or at your home if local). Skype lessons can be arranged. One to one lessons are £30 (1 hr).


RECORDING / PRODUCTION / ARRANGING: I have a studio outside Lewes and produce highly affordable recordings for singer-songwriters and other acoustic ensembles. I provide arranging and can perform on recordings if required – I also have access to Kate Daisy Grant’s vocal, piano and cello and Martyn Barker’s drums if needed.
STARTING RATE £120 / DAY

Lessons will include a series of folk fiddle workshops covering tunes and techniques from England, Ireland, Scotland and the North American styles of Old-Time, Bluegrass and Cajun, plus a dip into the Balkans. I will also be focusing on improvisation and song accompaniment.

Performing CV
Nick has toured extensively with Stomp’s Lost and Found Orchestra, comedians Boothby Graffoe, Rich Hall, Stewart Lee, on the Sandy Denny tribute tour with Maddy Prior, PP Arnold, Joan Wasser, Thea Gilmore and Dave Swarbrick , girl band B*Witched, and performed two-handers with Steve Harley (Cockney Rebel) and Arthur Brown. In his original award-winning music shows, Nick uses live-looping to combine his 5 string fiddle, bass pedals, wine glasses, theremin, dulcimer and more. Nick will be touring with Kate Daisy Grant during the spring and summer 2013. AWARDS: Co-winner of ‘Herald Angel Award’ 2012, The Latest 2007 Brighton ‘Star of the Festival’ award, Mervyn Stutter’s Spirit of the Fringe Award 2005. Co-winner of ‘ThreeWeeks Editor’s Choice Award’ 2007.
