It's the last day of term! Well done for getting through it.
The library will close at 16.30 on 14 December, so be sure to get your fix of music literature before then. We reopen on 7 January at 09.00.

Louis Spohr was born #OnThisDay in 1784. As well as being a notable composer, performer and conductor, he invented the violin chinrest. Violinists across the world have him to thank for their well-rested chins.

The MFL is open again after the summer break. Still on vacation hours: 9.30-16.30 (Mon-Fri)

Today is the last day that the Music Faculty Library will be open before its annual closed period. The Library will reopen at 9.30 on Tuesday 29 August. The Weston Library will be open as usual throughout August (i.e. 9.00-19.00, Mon-Fri; 10.00-16.00 Sat), apart from the bank holiday weekend (26-28 August, inclusive).

There will be NO INTERNET in the MFL tomorrow (Tuesday 27th June). This means no printing, no wifi, no computers, for readers as well as library staff. We are aware that it is a hand-in day tomorrow, so PLEASE PRINT YOUR DISSERTATIONS ELSEWHERE before coming in for binding. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Just to let you know that the Music Faculty Library is now on vacation opening hours, i.e. 09:30-16:30 (Mon-Fri, closed Saturdays). The Library will be closed completely from 5-28 August, opening again after the bank holiday. The Weston Library remains open as usual throughout the vacation (09:00-19:00 Mon-Fri; 10:00-16:00 Sat). Have a good summer!

Choral music sale!
A pile of choral music leaflets (anthems, services, etc.) has been kindly donated by Edward Higginbottom. If any organ/choral scholars or other students would like any of it, it will shortly be displayed at the foot of the Music Faculty Library stairwell so please come and help yourselves. There is a flat price of 10p for most items.

For anyone who has tried and failed to get into the Music Faculty this morning, this is to let you know that the building is now open, following a security emergency overnight. The Library is open for business as usual ...

Tomorrow is the last day we are open before the Easter break. We open again on Tuesday of 0th Week (18th April). Happy Easter!

We found an A5 stripey notebook in the library, with lots of notes, almost certainly belonging to a 1st year :) We're keeping it behind the desk to collect if it belong to you!
