Our venue is gorgeous but our staff is brilliant! They really care about what they do and how they do it and always talk about Oxford Town Hall as 'our Town Hall' - and we are proud.

The Town Hall Café has made practical changes to their menu to help customers make healthier choices such as:
>80% of drinks on sale contain less than 10g of sugar per 100ml; >a new tap water station is being provided in support of Refill Oxford.
... The effort made by Lemon Zest (the family owned catering company that runs café) has been recognised by a symbolic “golden teaspoon” awarded at a ceremony held by Good Food Oxford in September.

Families and adults of all ages are invited to join us as Museum of Oxford launches our Micro-Museum in the Gallery, tomorrow from 10am to 5pm.
In our celebration of Oxford though the ages, you will be able to see demonstrations of Anglo-Saxon craft, watch hand to hand combat, and handle historical objects and replicas. We will also have a live musical performance from the Oxford Waits, named after a real-life band of city musicians who flourished in the city during the time ...of the Civil War.
Children will also be able to enjoy face-painting, dressing up, and the opportunity to create their own medieval suit of armour or costume from any period of Oxford’s history! This is a great opportunity to find out more about Oxford’s Hidden Histories project and also to see the Museum’s objects whilst building work takes place on our new Heritage Lottery Funded project to transform the Museum of Oxford.

Oxford Lieder is returning to the Town Hall with a wonderful gala concert to open this year’s Festival and a school concert.
An exceptional team of four world-renowned soloists perform songs and ensembles by Schubert, Schumann, Saint-Saëns and others. Schola Cantorum of Oxford is Oxford’s leading chamber choir and we are delighted that they will join us to conclude the concert with Ralph Vaughan Williams’s extraordinary Serenade to Music, setting words from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, which famously reduced Rachmaninov to tears at its premiere.

If you’ve popped in to the Town Hall Café recently you may have noticed the healthier drinks on offer. It’s all part of the café’s commitment to Sugar Smart.
In recognition of this, Good Food Oxford has awarded LemonZest Catering, who runs the café, a Golden Teaspoon award.
Alastair Eccles from Lemon Zest told Your Oxford: “As the café is in the heart of the Town Hall, it was important that we supported Oxford City Council and Good Food Oxford in offering clear information... on the sugar content of drinks. I hope these changes will help customers to make more informed choices.”
The café also free tap water refills being part of the national Refill campaign, more locally known as Refill Oxford.

We went to see Fisherman's Friends last night, beautiful venue, but why no bar?

User

Me siento halagada de exponer nuevamente en Oxford International Art Fair, bellísimo lugar!

User

I took my son who is home educated to various sites in Oxford city centre and we both learned so much here thanks to the assistance and information parted by the lovely lady working/ volunteering at the town hall.

User

I go once a month to the lunchtime organ recitals which are excellent, I also sometimes go to the cafe when I am in Oxford shopping also excellent.

User

Gorgeous venue for a Frank Turner gig. Also, great crowd; left my phone in the loo and found it there twenty mins later!

User

Fantastic such a lot of talent . Exceptional voices the best one I've been to up to date

User

Amei estar expondo em tal lugar através de Francesco Basile de Amsterdã. Obrigado. Um show. Espetacular

User

Amazing experience at the 120yrs old Town Hall. I wanted to attend the Oxford Salsa Ball more for the venue. Being able to dance there with live band playing has made it an experience not to be forgotten.

User

It's is a beautiful venue, there were "wrinkles" with the service but the staff were good natured and really worked hard. I'd hold an event there. I might discuss the catering carefully but overall it was very good.

User

It's a beautiful venue but not the best acoustics and no bar. Couldn't even buy a bottle of water. That needs to be resolved, I think.

User

I have already see this place.

Very nice and amazing

Too good I have a lot of fun and enjoy

User

Great venue with beautiful architecture but would be so much better with a bar

User

As an Oxford City Councillor this is, in part, my workplace. The current Town Hall was completed in 1897, but is the third civic headquarters on the site - and still retains a medieval period basement. Several grand halls, with meeting rooms suited for weddings and council committee work. Some relics are worth viewing, including a mace presented to Oxford By King Charles II - a slightly smaller mace was presented to Parliament and is used to show the authority of the Speaker for the House of Commons. Oxford's larger mace is used as a symbol of the authority of the city's Lord Mayor.
