Oxford University Press - Elt Description

Oxford University Press is a department of the University of Oxford. It furthers the University's objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide.

The University controls the policy of Oxford University Press through a group of Delegates appointed from the academic staff of the University. The Delegates meet fortnightly during term-time under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor. They are actively involved in the publishing programme: all books are referred to them for approval and individual Delegates maintain a dialogue with editors in their specialist subject areas. Delegates are appointed from American universities to advise on the publishing programme for OUP USA.

The Delegates appoint a Finance Committee consisting of some of their own number, the senior executives of the Press, and outside advisers. The Finance Committee acts in much the same way as the board of directors of a company.

The Chief Executive of the Press is also known by the traditional title of Secretary to the Delegates. He chairs the Group Strategy Committee which is in charge of the day-to-day management of the business.

This is one of the best Universities. I love the best and I always follow its dictionary. I would be glad to read and know if they could provide more information in simple, understandable manner. Thanks to the University and to its faculty.

The best University I have ever seen on facebook, and I am very happy that I bought last year the 9th edition Oxford Advanced Dictionary at Prishtina international Fair book. It has got words, exercises, pictures, topics, Grammar etc.

It helps me in my English bachelor studies.

Also I have got "The Toefl ibt Exam preparation course".

I wish to visit one day Oxford University.

Oxford University is the best for those who want to get huge knowledge for their choice. Oxford Advanced Learner's English Dictionary is the excellent for English language and Vocabulary. I like so much Advance Oxford Learner's English Dictionary.

User

I've been using OUP texts in almost all my classes, and the results have been always the expected. The quality of materials covers my needs as an adults teacher at a highly satisfactory level.

User

I think it is excellent way to improve our English teaching activities in our own classes

User

I really love Oxford Press. I have been teaching with all their books for years. And my students fall in love with them.

Enrolled in Teaching English to Young Learners. The course is so informative. Love it!

During all my teaching career ,I have always found Oxford contents excellently valuable.

User

Excellent quality - I use their books "International Express" in my classes as well as the online Placement Test. However, the price of the online Placement Test is way too high for small players in the market - a real cash cow.

User

I just took my first test, "file-American English". I am an American born speaker of English. I speak clearly and have a neutral American accent. Why can't I pass the first test? LOL.

User

I have been using an OUP Premium account for a few weeks now and I am happy with the content. However, "myWordlist" function, the primary reason I paid for the online dictionary, is close to being useless.

Each time I need to "add a word to my Wordlist" I have to check A FEW boxes to indicate which meanings I want to save AND in WHICH LIST I want to save them (seriously, guys? there is a feature known as "always use this folder" in the modern day software engineering. and it was created because people dod not want to waste time on answering the same question a zillion times)

Honestly, if I wanted to spend so much time on making a wordlist could not I have done it through copy-pasting from Mariam Webster?

It would have been free.

User

would like to learn more English words . then pleas send me oxford dictionaries from university. shall I wait you. ok.
