Judith Wood - R.I.P. It is with deep regret that Oxfordshire Association for the Blind announce the recent death of Judith Wood, BCAh, their Senior Sight Advisor and long term specialist Counsellor. Judith, herself visually impaired, worked tirelessly at the county charity for over 25 years providing support and counselling to those affected by sight loss. In July 2018 in recognition of her long term commitment to her work, she was awarded with a Certificate of Honour at ...The British Citizen Awards. Last summer also saw her receive a Professional Award at BBC 4’s All In The Mind Award ceremony. Following a short illness at the end of 2018 Judith passed away on Thursday 17th April. David Warr, Chairman of Oxfordshire Association for the Blind comments: “Judith was an asset to our charity and over the past 25 years has helped several thousands of people in Oxfordshire come to terms with the shock and upset caused by vision loss through her specialist counselling skills. It will be our mission to carry on Judith’s legacy and continue to provide this support. Her big personality and warm heart will be missed by our staff, volunteers and our clients.” Pictured here with Dame Kelly Holmes receiving her award in 2018
