About Pb Strength & Fitness Mentoring

My objective is to create and provide informed, goal-orientated strength training content and coaching services for those who are intrested in achiving there health and fitness goals through barbell training.

Pb Strength & Fitness Mentoring Description

My mission is to help men and women of all ages and physical abilities to build stronger, more useful bodies through traditional barbell training… the most effective system ever conceived!

I aim to develop these qualities in my trainees because strength is the most important physical attribute that we have, it influences all other aspects of fitness, for example just by training for strength you can dramatically improve your balance, coordination, endurance and body composition. It’s strength that is the foundation to human movement, and the key to your long term health and independence, so it’s strength that I strive to develop in trainees first.

The barbell is the tool of choice used by me to develop strength, because anyone can use barbells. You don’t need to be young, or a seasoned lifter. In fact, a lot of my trainees are in there 4th decade plus and are just starting to learn what a barbell is and how to develop their physical capabilities through barbell movements. They quickly recognise the benefits this modality of training has on their health, longevity, body image and physical independence, through achieving objective, measurable results.

In recent years, this recognition of muscular strength being paramount has led to a noticeable shift from trainees just wanting to “ lose weight” or having a “ripped six pack”, to wanting to improve their strength and condition, and develop a functional, well balanced body. Trainees are now more concerned with what they can actually do, and if all that time and money they’re spending in the gym has made them a more confident, physically capable person.

I address this concern by educating trainees that progress, not random exercises thrown together, is what matters. That workouts need to be part of an intelligently designed training programme, which can produce measurable increases in strength and performance consistently over long periods of time.

More and more people are joining me in person and via social media, to learn from my content and connect with other trainees and mentors that know, use and believe in the systems I teach.

So don’t waste any more time, start exploring my content now, like, share, subscribe and comment where appropriate, and if you want help getting stronger you can apply to join my group or individualised strength and fitness mentoring programmes here.

One of the best things about being a coach is meeting new people and learning about what it is that they do and what it is that they are passionate about, in the case of George Morritt, Howard Morritt, and Jack Morritt that would be music 🎵. Check there band “Dammit Jack” out in this video, and if your looking for a band for your wedding or event I can highly recommend them. http://www.dammitjackevents.com

🚣‍♀️WARM-UP’S🏋️‍♂️ They should be simple, relevant to the days training and only contain what is necessary to get you under the bar or performing the activity you're about to do. • What they shouldn’t be, but often are, is some sort of complex and time-consuming amalgamation of general physical conditioning, yoga, and self-torture (foam rolling, TheraGuning, muscle flossing, TENs , and tying yourself up with rubber bands). •... I don’t think things like stretching, foam rolling, and resistance bands are useless. They certainly have there place in training, it's just that for most of the time they aren't needed and only complicate and lengthen the workout unessaseraly. • Next time you warm up think about what it is your preparing for and the things you struggle with. • For example, when It comes to the deadlift I have no mobility issues, so I don't stretch, the exercise is sufficient for that. What I do struggle with is jumping straight into a heavy work set. So I gradually increase the weight from light to heavy focusing on technique all the way. Below is an example of how my warm-up routine looks. • GENERAL WARM-UP 3 minutes rowing • SPECIFIC WARM UP deadlifting 1️⃣Warm up set 1 70kg x 5 rep (around 45% of work weight) 2️⃣Warm up set 2 100kg x 3 reps (around 65% of work weight) 3️⃣Warm up set 3 140kg x 1 rep (around 85% of work weight) 4️⃣Warm up set 4 150kg x 1 ( around 90% of work weight) • Work sets 160kg x 3x3 (only first set shown) • This took me 7 minutes and I was ready for my work sets. It was quick, simple, and effective, just like a warm-up should be. • If you give it a go let me know how you get on. • 💥Training slots available Now! ONE POT SAVES THE DAY… sometimes your rushed off your feet, and you don’t feel like cooking, and you certainly don’t want to deal with all the washing up, it would be so much easier to just get a takeaway delivered! • But, you promised yourself that you were going to turn over a new leaf this year, and take your approach to nutrition more seriously - no more junk food, and no more takeaway - what do you do? • One simple yet satisfying solution is to master the one-pot meal. ...This style of cooking offers the pleaser of a homemade meal with minimal fuss and next to no clean-up, in fact you typically won’t need anything more than a knife, chopping board and the pot. These recipes can also be quick, lend themselves to batch cooking, and typically contain every element of a healthy meal; protein, fat, and carbohydrates (including colourful fibres vegetables). • Another huge win in my opinion about one-pot meals is that almost all cultures have their version. The Italians have creamy risotto, the Spanish fragrant paella, the French cassoulet, the Thais have pad Thai, the English make hearty stews, and the list goes on. My point is it should never get boring. • So start learning a few recipes now, ready for the next time you have to prepare food for a busy day. Just make sure it fits into your nutrition plan. • If you would like the recipe in full that accompanies my video simply direct message me through Instagram or Facebook. • Calories per serving: 435 Macronutrients: P - 46.2g C -41.2 g F -9.5 g • #foodismedicine #foodisfuel #foodisfun #nutritiousfood #diet #ukhealth #ukhealthcoaches #abs #fitness #training #derby #derbyfashion #derbypersonaltrainer #personaltrainerderby #ashbourne #ashbournegyms #derbygym #onepotmeal #onepotrecipe

💥THE POWER SNATCH💥 • Why learn this exercise? • BECAUSE… •... Snatch variants are just about the coolest looking barbell exercises there are - and when performed skilfully with some weight hanging on the bar are just bad-ass!🏋️‍♂️ • ALSO, LEARN THEM BECAUSE… • The fast lifts are not just for the weightlifters, and cross-fitters, but for everyone who could benefit from learning how to generate and apply their muscular strength quickly. Their also a lot of fun to learn as the challenge of moving the weights fast and staying on one's feet becomes a welcome change of pace from the heavy and slow grinding lifts that are; the squat. the press, the deadlift, and the bench press. • The power snatch is just one of these fast lifts, and just as with the power clean, the benefits of the power snatch don’t initially come from the weight used, as it starts out relatively light compared to both the power clean and the deadlift, but from the speed and explosiveness of the movement, the increased distance the weight has to travel and the increased demands on balance, coordination, accuracy and timing. • Although it has the reputation for being difficult to learn, if you can do a deadlift, and you can do an overhead press, then you can learn a power snatch. • In essence all you have to do to get started is place your hands wider out than you would for a deadlift (sometimes all the way out to the sleeves of the bar), set your back, pull the bar up to your knees, and from there it is no more complicated than a jump with a barbell in the hands, finished with a catch overhead and standing tall. • Don’t let the fast dynamic nature of the lift put you off from learning it - it’s simply not that hard to get started with and is useful enough that all lifters should know how to do it. • My “Learn To Lift Programme” starts on the first Tuesday of every month, there are three groups, we train every Tuesday and Thursday at 1️⃣6:30am - 7:15am, 2️⃣12pm -1:15pm, and 3️⃣6pm - 7:15pm, the location is Spartan Studios Derby Uk, and the cost is £99 for four weeks. • Get in contact with me PB Strength & Fitness Mentoring and be part of my lifting community!
