Nestled in the foothills of the Pennines, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Peak View offers a fabulous back-to-nature experience for couples looking for a romantic getaway. Surrounded by stunning countryside, this shepherds hut is warm and cosy, benefiting from a superb wood burner as well as full central heating, making it perfect for all year round adventures.
Our Shepherd Huts are situated in a gorgeous rural setting, yet just 1 mile from the bustling former mill town of Glossop and its extensive range of facilities.
Just walking distance from the site is Windy Harbour Farm Hotel with a restaurant and a well stocked bar. There are ample varied and scenic walks in the surrounding countryside including the Pennine Way, Trans Pennine Trail and the Longdendale Trail, which are all easily accessible. Many Peak District towns and villages can be reached in around half an hour, including the spa town of Buxton and beautiful villages of Edale and Castleton. Bakewell and the magnificent Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are around an hour away, and for those who prefer the bright lights of the big city, Glossop train station offers a direct service to Manchester city centre in around 30 minutes. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 175 yards.

*Meet Wooly’s Hut*
Wooly’s Hut was named after one of our favourite sheep from over the years. Wooly was given to us as an old man when he outgrew his previous home, a local farmhouse in which he used to live indoors and even wore a dog collar with his name on.
This hut, like our others, is larger than average and fitted with a combination of traditional and up to date accessories including free WIFI.
... As soon as you walk through the stable style door you’re greeted with a comfy British wool double sofa. Look to your left and you’ve got a delightfully soft fixed double bed with a 32″ smart TV/DVD player. Facing the bed is a cast iron log burner keeping you warm during the colder evenings with glowing flames from locally sourced wood. We’ve also fitted an internal heating system with Nest thermostat so you can ensure the temperature is just right when you return from enjoying the unrivalled local views. On your right we’ve ensured you’ve got 2 electric induction hobs, kettle, microwave, farmhouse style ceramic sink, plenty of cupboard space and all the essentials for your cooking needs. Last but definately not least is the end en suite bathroom with a spacious walk in shower, comfortable toilet and elegant ceramic wash bowl.
Outside the Hut is spacious wooden decking with table and seating as well as an embracing fire pit. There is also private parking close to each Hut.

Meadow Hut is the twin of Eric’s Hut, with a similar layout and size but beautifully individual stylings and new for 2018, our beautiful wood fired eco hot tub.

Eric’s Hut was named after our pet Guanaco, Eric. Guanacos are of the same family as Llamas and Alpacas and he was a great “guard” animal to our chickens, protecting them from foxes especially at night. We had him for many years and was loved by everyone who met him. Eric’s Hut is also the twin of Meadow Hut, with a similar layout and size but beautifully individual stylings.

*Meet Willow Hut*
Willow Hut is our brand new Shepherd Hut hand built by us and our team of master craftsmen. It’s also longer, wider and extra special in every way, you won’t find another Hut like this one.
Everything about this Hut has been designed to provide the best in comfort inside and traditional looks outside to give you the best Glamping experience possible.
... The front of Willow Hut has a large decking area with comfy seating to enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Through the large double French doors is a fixed Kingsize bed facing outwards to give you some of the best views whilst staying warm and snug. There’s also a 40” Smart TV on a swivel mount so you can view it from all around the Hut.
There’s two beautiful wing chairs facing the cast iron log burner and hand crafted stone hearth to warm yourselves in front of but don’t worry you’ll never be cold as there’s also underfloor heating throughout the whole Hut to keep you warm on even the coldest of days.
On the right of the Hut is a spacious kitchen area with 2 induction hobs, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, country style sink and all the cutlery, pots and pans you should ever need.
Looking to the left is a full wet room bathroom with a walk in shower, sink, toilet, heated towel rail and 2 amazingly soft dressing gowns.
At the far end of Willow Hut is a stable style door with decking giving you easy access to the rear of the Hut, recycling facilities and of course your parked car.
We’ve saved the best till last though as just outside is a 2 person wood fired Eco friendly Hot Tub meaning you can take in not only the stunning Peak District views but the full outdoors atmosphere whilst being toasty, warm and enjoy the serene peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside.
Building this Hut ourselves has ensured that everything you could ever need and want from a Shepherd Hut stay has been added and made to the highest standard for comfort and ease of use to make your stay the best possible and hopefully keep you coming back again and again.

What a fantastic time we had in Woolys celebrating our Silver wedding anniversary. 29th May to 1st June. Perfect surroundings, just what we needed and the dogs enjoyed it too. Very friendly owners, lovely hut finished to high standards, fab welcome pack with lots of goodies......... couldn’t have asked for more.
We've just come back from an amazing weekend staying at Peak View. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough, the owners have gone to great lengths to make this a luxury experience. The huts are equipped with high quality fittings and a mixture of modern tech (NEST thermostat and bluetooth music connection) and classic cosy features (wood burner etc.). The area is also ideal for exploring the Peak District. It was our first wedding anniversary and Graham was kind enough to arrange for some flowers to be there for the wife when we arrived, this made it even more special. We will definitely be back :).
We were very pleased with having booked the peak view shepherd huts for our Easter break. The accommodation was great! Everything was modern and clean. We were very comfortable staying here. The owners had thought of everything from the little packets of butter in the fridge to the matches and wood for the log burner. We were even left a little gift basket filled with Easter treats. The views were amazing and the people were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be staying again!
We stayed in Eric for a romantic weekend away. Beautiful view and hut. Will definitely be visiting again. Great space, very clean and Bluetooth speaker in the wall. The bed very comfortable and we enjoyed having breakfast in bed. The town is only a 5 minute drive, with lots of places to park and eat.
We have just stayed here for 2 nights for my partners birthday and it was literally perfect. We couldn’t fault a thing! The views were incredible, the hut was stunning and being the first to experience the new hot tub was an added bonus! We will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone for a romantic weekend away. Thank you for being so accommodating.

Stayed for 5 days. Torrential rain but so snug and cosy in the hut. A very relaxing few days thinking about nothing and chilling. Close enough to town but far enough to be peaceful. Loved it.
Spent 2 nights here, it's been absolutely fantastic, so clean and comfortable. Contains everything you need. The hot tub was fab.

Myself and my husband stayed here for a little weekend away and it was perfect.
On arrival we were met by Julie, who couldn't be more friendly and welcoming. She told us everything we needed to know and showed us where everything was.
The cabin was very modern and cosy. It was well built and felt very solid. Even down to the fine details of soft closing cupboard doors and toilet seat.
The bed was very comfortable with lovely feathered pillows and duvet. The TV was a HD smart tele and was very easy to use. Best of all for us was the wood burner, it really made the experience more cosy.
It was explained to us that the hut wasn't in its permanent plot and it is going to be moved into the next field soon which will be great as the views will be amazing.
The evenings were very windy, but what do you expect when your staying in a place called 'windy harbour'. This didn't effect our experience at all as the Cabin was always warm and the sound of the wind was actually quiet relaxing.
We cannot fault this place and we will definitely be back to enjoy it again in the summer.

My husband and I stayed here at the weekend, it was amazing, from the lovely friendly welcome from the owner to the very tasteful interior inside. We couldn't have asked for anything as everything you needed was provided. The welcome basket was a lovely touch as were the toiletries. Inside was immaculate and a real home from home. The views were amazing and it was so quiet. If only it had been warmer we could have sat outside on the lovely decked area We had an amazing time and will definitely be back.
Just returned from a two night stay and wish we were still there sat on the decking admiring the fantastic views. This place is a must if you want to just unwind and just relax or ideally place if you want to explore the local walks.
We stayed in Eric and it had everything you could wish for and more.we were greeted with a welcoming smile and shown round. Every effort had been made to ensure your stay was as comfortable as possibly could be. We will definitely be visiting again in the future for sure.
If you are looking for a romantic/chilled weekend away, look no further than Peak View Shepherd huts. My husband and I stayed here for x2 nights at the beginning of July and it was just fantastic! We stayed in the new hut Willow which I would highly recommend, interior and exterior was beautifully designed and the Eco hot tub was a bonus! The sunset view from here was unreal.
We arrived early evening which was no problem for the hosts who met us on arrival and were very welcoming �
Town was only about 5 minutes drive with supermarkets, pubs & restaurants so perfect to stock up on food and drink. Plenty of walks and cycle routes and the scenery was just outstanding, so beautiful.
We will definitely be returning in the near future. In fact, so many friends have asked about the huts.....one booked for this New Year and another is looking to book beginning of November!

I suprised my husband with a night here for our 1st wedding anniversary just over 3 weeks ago. Such an amazing place to stay, peaceful with some of the best views of England over looking the lake and stunning hills. Would definately visit again and recommend to anyone.
I recently stayed in Wooly's hut. The views are beautiful and the hut is lovely and cosy, everything you could need and very luxurious. Perfect for a peaceful getaway. Sitting outside watching the sunsets and looking at the stars, listening to the wind and animals - so relaxing. Very sad to leave ! Have just arrived home from 2 days stay with a friend in these wonderful shepherds huts.i was very impressed by the quality of the furnishings, the hosts and ther thoughtful touches (crumpets & maltesers),the amazing sunset pictures,relaxing hot tub,the peaceful surroundings of the peak district.Only a short distance from many walks/cycle routes,caverns,villages,outdoor activities.would highly recommend a break here.just what the doctor ordered!

Amazing! The hut is incredible inside and out. Full wireless speaker system, comfiest bed and all the mod-cons you need with a gorgeous deck with sofa makes the whole experience so enjoyable. Lovely to sleep and wake up to silence with rolling hills and alpacas, sheep and cows surrounding. 100% recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing stay to rewind, relax and just breathe. Incredible hut, incredible setting and incredible time.
Absolutely loved our stay here in Wooleys Hut! We came for a 2 night short break from the 30th July and it was perfect. Very sad to leave wish we could have stayed a little bit longer! Lots of dog friendly pubs in the area all too pleased to dish up some scrummy food with a treat for the dog too! Breathtaking countryside all around and the owners were very warm and welcoming!!
