We are heading out to drop off some treat to our local Emergency Services! Hopefully they will enjoy our Hunting lodge themed gifts!

came up on friday to sunday easy to find and close to multistorey parking although not cheap

cracking hotel with great friendly staff and a great bar and restaurant

great selection for breakfast from full english to pastrys and salmon with nice cheeses

comfy rooms / bed with excellent amenities

We really enjoyed our brief one night stay. From the moment we walked in, we knew this was somewhere different and so welcoming! The reception staff were fantastic, genuinely warm and nothing was too much trouble. Although we didn't care for our first room, this was quickly taken care of with no fuss and we moved to a fantastic new room.



The room itself was very comfortable, great beds and pillows and the bathroom was very good. The TV was fantastic, great choice.



We enjoyed breakfast the next morning, and the restaurant hostess was so welcoming too. There was a really choice available and we are really glad we chose to pay for breakfast in the hotel (tip: if you ask to prepay this as reception when you check-in, you'll get a small discount).



Overall, really enjoyable visit and would definitely return.

Unique, friendly, great value hotel with a difference. Love the decor, laidback atmosphere. Paid for buffet style breakfast at the hotel and at £15 each was fantastic value. Omelette and poached eggs were made to order if required too. Highly recommended.

Stayed here on a works business trip! Absolutely amazing! Rooms were immaculate and modern, staff were so so helpful and friendly, food and breakfast were beautiful! Great Location and all round a GREAT hotel to stay for the price! Will definitely be visiting again �

Really lovely room, comfiest bed, good breakfast, only down side was the slow lifts but I’m sure if both were working this wouldn’t be a problem. Staff were helpful and friendly, especially the girls at reception. Definitely recommend.

Penta has been fab in supporting Reading Pride over the years, especially with the use of a room for our meetings, we would be in a pickle if they weren't on board.

Plus they do fab tea, perfect for a chat or meeting, plus nice nibbles also.

Staff are always helpful, the inside looks really nice and very relaxing.

I really enjoyed my one nihht stay. The moment I walked in the customer service was on a superb level !!

There was a problem with my reservation payment. Weronika (I hope thats was her name) took care of it.

Rooms are clean in very high standard, beds comfy. Loved the toiletries sets �. The breakfast was gorgeous, havnt had such a nice omllet in a long time !! And the breakfast service was quick officiant and again great customer service. Well done really !!

Have stayed here a number of times and love it.but last night we got no sleep dew to a couple argueing all night next door to us which was ashame.we did complain to staff twice. Which the staff was bril.sorted it out very quick. We will stay again as we love the hotel

Great location to shop & enjoy Reading. We were a party of 6 hens!

Lovely contemporary hotel, friendly & helpful staff. Room,bar area & restaurant were spotless. Breakfast was faultless with everything available from fresh fruit, salmon,cereals, full English & prosecco!!

Highly recommend this hotel for a city break.

I did like the room as it was modern and tasteful. Had air conditioning which was nice, 48 inch television and nice powerful shower. Found the reception staff to be very bland and getting any help from them was like getting blood from a stone. They need to go back to customer service school.shocking!! �

We was so disappointed with the pentahotel. As a regular visitor to reading we stay in numerous hotels but decided on this occasion to pay a bit more, from the outside and lobby area it looked lovely but upon arriving they didn't have a booking for my room even though we had a reference number, one member of our party wanted to pay for the room with cash but was told only card payments were accepted so they had to get someone to pay for there room on there card. We specifically asked for all 3 rooms to be on the same floor but instead we were all scattered around the hotel 1,2,4th floor we asked to be moved near but reception said the rooms were booked although when we checked in they said we were all together. There's also no parking on site which if we was made aware we would have booked another hotel. The room was lovely and clean and the decor was nice but the noise from the motorway was horrendous which lead to us not having any sleep and we was Very dissappointed that we booked a double room and had 2 beds pushed together with 2 single quilts rather than a large quilt. The lobby area was lovely and the entertained was brilliant but it was not worth what we paid in price for. Wouldn't stay here again

This is a tough one to write so I'll do a scoring system with an explanation.



Staff 10/10 - Your staff really make this hotel, if they weren't as helpful and polite as they are I'd definitely leave a worse review.



Food 8/10 - Food was actually really decent and fairly price.



Hotel Communal Areas - 8/10 - Quite nice to be honest, thought the bar, restaurant and reception area was really nice.



Hotel Gym 8/10 - Not bad especially for a hotel gym.



Room In General 4/10 - The decor was bogging and the TV didn't work very well. It was cleaned thoroughly but I don't know why this annoyed me but it did - There was a massive brown stain on the carpet and over the chair in the bedroom and rather than have it cleaned it was covered by a footstool. If the bed wasn't so comfy I'd have scored lower.



WiFi 0/10 - Absolutely abysmal, even when you pay the small fee it's still shite.



I'd stay again purely on the food and staff but it wouldn't be my first choice.

If ordering food, the Caesar Salad comes with unmentioned anchovies and the sauce contains it too. The no. 3 pizza is on the menu as "salami, pepperoni, mozzarella and tomato", whereas it contains no tomato and actually has diced chillies as the principal topping.

Hotel in city centre so in a great place for everything around. Bar and lounge really nicely done out, clean and well stocked.Staff friendly and approachable and breakfast had a good choice and was all fresh and tasty. Only issues were the shower has no anti-slip matt so can get pretty slippy and dangerous and the room varied from really freezing to boiling hot. Not conducive with a good nights sleep. On the whole I would stay there again.

Have attended a conference at the hotel. Room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Room was very warm and the air conditioning not very effective. Catering at the conference was not great, food ran out so not everyone was able to get lunch. Only one coffee machine for a conference of about 80 was not ideal.

On arriving at the hotel it looked very impressive and we managed to book in early but when we went into our room we noticed that a panel from the ceiling was dropping down and one of the sockets we couldn't put the plug in all the way and then in the bathroom when flushing the toilet the circular flusha dropped off. The panel was resolved and we were offered another room but we had unpacked and didn't want to move around. We had visited this hotel the other month and was told we were going to have a quiet room and not the room that we were shown as it turned out it wasn't bad but we could still hear traffic noise we felt the room was a bit small and that a socket should have been nearer the mirror or another mirror in the room should be supplied 4 putting makeup on straightening hair also didn't realise that the hotels bar was open for 24 hours so if you're looking for a quiet venue this is probably not the place you want to be but saying that the location was good as we were going to the Hexagon which was just minutes away
