Phoenix Fitness is owned and operated by Level 3 qualified personal trainers Giselle O’Donovan & Chris Mannion.

As PT’s we felt that we could offer our clients a more personal and higher quality service in a studio environment than we could give them in the commercial gym we were working. We specialise in working one to one with people, offering not only training but the help, guidance and support they need to reach their goals. Weight loss, toning and conditioning are our core business but we also train clients for strength, muscle gain and participation in events such as the great north run and tough mudder. If you tell us what your goals are we will find a way to help you reach them. By providing a safe and inviting place for women to train and combining that with our specialist knowledge and experience we can help you transform into the person you have always dreamed of becoming.

Todays Foodie Friday Recipe. Quinoa, pistachio, almond and peanut salad with lime dressing. Today's recipe is a great high protein salad that you can eat at home or take to work and comes from Dave Morley. Its nutrient and fiber dense and goes really well with fresh salad leaves. It will keep in the fridge for a few days which makes it ideal for lunches. Enjoy!

Who fancies giving this a go? Lesley Littlefair has been testing out our new heavyweight JCB tyre and our new medium weight tyre as well. Tyre flips are Hard work but great if you want to work on strength and endurance - build muscle and burn fat while working your legs, back, glutes and core.

Thursday diet tip ..... Swap food snacks for exercise snacks!!. Instead of having that pack of nuts do some squats. Instead of eating that protein bar do some crunches. That way instead of eating 1400 extra calories a week you'll have used them!

Any one for battlerope burpees? These are one of the best metabolic conditioning exercises you can do if you want a full body workout that burns fat and gets you fit. Peter is working through his 3rd set in the video and making them look nice and easy.

Monday Motivation of you need it. Week 5 of Lis Walkers training video blog. Lis has lost almost 12lbs and has been doing some tyre flips as part of her leg day.

Mother and daughter side squat walks with resistance bands. Apparently Emily our independent adjudicator has decided that mums exercises were more difficult than dads so it's now officially on record. Well done to both Gemma and Emily!

Father - daughter tyre flipping race with Peter and Emily. Peter will be working on his speed and agility for a rematch I'm sure. Emily trained with her dad and then her mum straight after dancing so a big well done to her!

A Little Monday Motivation from Lis Walker. Week 4 and Lis has dropped another 2lb as a result of watching what she eats and training consistently. This takes her overall weight loss to 10lbs since she started training, which is really good going.

What did you do this morning?
It was a lovely sunny day so we got outside for some tyre drags, walking lunges and plyometric jumps as well as the usual bench pressing, deadlifts and squats of course. Well done to Jim for his 100 uninterrupted skips after his tyre drags and walking lunges Sangeeta for her very first tyre drag followed by lunges and deadlifts ... Lis for her in out squat jumps, which followed regular squats. Box steps and lunges And Peter for his 150cm frog jumps (that was his fourth set in the video) plus walking lunges with an Arnie press, in-out battlerope squat slams and more.

A little Monday Motivation! Week 3 of Lis Walkers training video diary and week 5 of her training overall. So far Lis has lost just over half a stone in weight. Her body fat and visceral fat percentage have both dropped while her muscle mass has increased.... and her friends and family are starting to notice!

Foodie Friday - Fathead Pizza
This weeks very first recipe comes from Lesley Littlefair and is sure to work for anyone who wants a low carb pizza.
For the base:... Take 140g melted mozzarella cheese and add 1 tablespoon of double cream, 2 tablespoons of coconut flour, 1 egg and any herbs & spices you choose. mix ingredients together on greaseproof paper and roll out. Bake the base at 180 degrees for 10 minutes
Remove from the oven and top the baked base with tomato, passata, ham, onions, peppers and mozzarella or whatever toppings work for you. Return to the oven to heat though.

Joan "I've just washed my hair!" Beamson working up a sweat deadlifting with the bar for the first time. As you can all see she did brilliantly. If you want to burn fat, improve your posture and work as many muscles as possible while getting your cardio fix, deadlifting is just the ticket.

New 15kg Olympic bar has arrived. The deliveryman said "I think it's a bar, but I wouldn't put any weight on that its heavy enough without!"
