Good luck to Ben Shepherd who is taking part in IronMan Barcelona next month to raise funds for PLANETS! This is Ben’s first IronMan and he is putting himself through this challenge to show support for his mum, the unforgettable Steph! Steph, a NET patient, is one of our most enthusiastic fundraisers who has supported us since her diagnosis and shown an incredible amount of positivity, energy and determination along the way, not to mention a little bit of craziness, which is why we love her!
Thanks for your support Ben! Please take a look at Ben’s fundraising page by clicking on the link below:

PLANETS are holding a support group for pancreatic cancer patients on Tuesday 13th November at 10am at Chilworth Manor Hotel. Most patients find these meetings invaluable, giving them the opportunity to meet other patients and medical specialists who can answer any questions you may have in an informal setting. Consultant Mr Neil Pearce will be in attendance as will our Clinical Nurse Specialists. For more information, or to book your place, please click on the link below.

Just a few spaces remaining for our NET Patient conference on October 17th at Chilworth Manor Hotel. This is an opportunity to listen to presentations from key NET medical and industry professionals as well as meet fellow NET patients. Please get in touch if you would like to attend as this invaluable day is extremely popular and spaces are limited.

Thank you to the lovely Holt Family for presenting us with this fantastic £2750 cheque today, proceeds from the sale of local artist David Holt’s paintings which became his project over the last year of his life. David's artwork, which were sold as part of Hampshire Open Studios week, will form a wonderful legacy which will be enjoyed by many, including PLANETS Chief, Layla, who purchased (fittingly) the beautiful Planets painting shown in our cover photo. To read more about David's artwork and his decision to support PLANETS after his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, please click on the link below:

One of our youngest supporters and fundraisers, Alannah Smigielska-Phillips, contacted us recently to say she had managed to secure a donation of teddies from Build a Bear and that she would like to deliver them to the children's ward at Southampton General on behalf of PLANETS. What an offer! A heartfelt thank you to Alannah, as you can see from the photos, the teddies were well received and held on to very tightly! 💜

Check out the lovely Holt family on South Today (at 2.33 on the attached clip) talking about Hampshire Open Studios week where they have welcomed art lovers into their home to view their Dad, David Holt’s, work. David spent the last year of his life preparing for this exhibition which his devoted family have hosted over the last week on his behalf. There will be another chance to see this feature on South Today tonight at 10pm. Thank you to the Holt’s for your generous support of PLANETS 💜

Thank you to everyone that has supported Adam and Georgia Long in their quest to raise £100,000 to fund Adam’s Immunotherapy treatment. They are just over £6000 from their target now. The News, Portsmouth have shared this article today, highlighting Adam’s situation and also helping to raise awareness of Neuroendocrine cancer.

Great photos of Gary Cawte and his friends Molly, Guy, Darren, Jay, Spencer and Dan taking part in Tough Mudder on Saturday to raise funds for PLANETS! So far they have raised an amazing £1000. This team of friends chose to support PLANETS as friends of Adam Long who has been cared for by the PLANETS medical team for the last 3 years since his NET diagnosis.
Adam is currently fundraising himself to enable him to have Immunotherapy at Southampton which is, sadly, not avail...able on the NHS at the moment as it is not licensed. You can read more about Adam's quest here: https://www.gofundme.com/xkatc-life-savin g-immunotherapy-tr… - This would be a first for Immunotherapy with NETS and could prove a big step towards it being available as a treatment to all patients in the future. Adam is only £8000 from his target and has raised an incredible amount of much needed awareness for Neuroendocrine cancer in the process.
Thank you to the Tough Mudder team for supporting PLANETS and Adam.

PLANETS had a wonderful day at Longstock Park Water Garden on Sunday. Hosted by patient Elizabeth Gay and her husband Brian, and with the help of grandchildren Sadie and Charlie, an amazing £1000 was raised not to mention lots of awareness gained. Thank you to John Lewis for offering us this opportunity and to the Gay family for all their hard work organising and hosting the day. Thank you also to all our supporters that went along on Sunday to enjoy the gardens.
