I really love puregym on Basingstoke road I go at least 5 days sometimes 6 days a week plus it is so close to where I live witch is a bonus it is a brilliant gym to workout I just wish they had a seated & standing calf machine like you see at other gyms I mean they have a calf press machine but I really love the idea of the seated & standing calf machines puregym is the best.

I love this place. Perfect place for me to zone out amd get a good workout in!

User

Great place to train, very spacious, friendly staff members and equipment is second to none, for the price I pay for this gym is excellent and the location is perfect also for me.

The only draw backs for me are avoiding busy periods, people their just having a chin wag instead of working out, whilst hogging onto equipment and not putting weights back into their desired places and not cleaning up after they're all done aint nobody want to lye down on your sweat, be courtious!

Fantastic "no frills" gym.

The space available is massive and there's ample weights and machines (if you're that way inclined) so that you're not fighting over the equipment.

Personal Trainers are second to none for friendliness and advice, and are very enthusiastic about training.

I highly recommend Justin's Bootcamp class on a Saturday afternoon, it's my favourite! But don't go telling everyone or it'll get booked up ;)

Thanks Pure for helping me reach my fitness goals

Classes are great. It’s clean and well equipped and doesn’t cost the earth. What more could you want?

User

Well equipped gym, with great equipment, good atmosphere and nice and clean (which is a bit of a must). There were no exercise balls?? and I think they could do with some mats at the back as I didn't fancy laying down at the front by the window waving my legs about, but otherwise very pleased.

Puregym Basingstoke has great facilities especially for the price you pay . Plenty of equipment and free weights to use Only thing I would change would be the is only 2 cable machines down stairs and one upstairs (in the cardio zone) maybe move them all to A centralised location in the weights room would be helpful .

User

Would have scored higher but because of cut backs & not paying the music license it's gone from 3 step classes a week to none not happy!! Looks like the steps are just for ornamental use :/

User

It's not the best gym I have been to but for the price and timing it's good. Its close to my home which is good too

User

It's good value for money but if you are serious about gym and have a precise trening plans you will struggle if you train before 9am or after 5pm as it's really overcrowded. Not many people put weights back in place and it's a real mess giut often. There good classes and there a lot of them.

If you like spin bikes there is a separate room full of them but bikes them self are not great-clitless pedals are only spd (as for mtb), they are not fitted with power meters or heart rate meter (you can connect your own) and resistance knob has no scale so you can not monitor your workouts.

User

Good size gym, staff seems friendly enough although some Instructors teaching Indoor Cycling could do with a lesson in professionalism. I only use this gym a few times a week at the moment but based on previous experience of this and other Pure Gyms you get what you pay for. Basics.... limited weight facilities and like someone else said people don't put weights back properly.

Very disappointed PT'S not allowed their own music for classes. I have been going to step with Ahmet for a year now and out of the blue tonight he has cancelled his class. Puregym there is no point advertising a low monthly fee when you keep stripping out the essentials of the gym. The PT'S need their own music not the crap you want them to play. You should ballot the members to see what they think but I feel very let down

User

Really disappointing that the Step classes have been cancelled due to Pure Gym not wanting to pay for the licence. Step has been one of my favourite classes, and I regularly attended, now they've all been cancelled because of music restrictions. Give the PTs the freedom to choose their own music and bring back the popular classes that your customers want and pay for

User

I'm a big fan of Pure gym Basingstoke Road, however I recently feel very let down. As mentioned in other posts, the PTs have been told they are no longer allowed to use their own music, as Pure Gym will not pay for a PPL license. This has resulted in the cancellation of the very popular step class. Step was a great class for all abilities, ages, shapes and sizes. It was always great to see such a diverse range of people at these classes as they were suitable for all levels of fitness, and most importantly really fun. I fear Pure Gym will loose a lot of members to this, particularly members who would otherwise not attend classes, as the step class was so accessible to all. Step was one of my favorite classes and a great way to loose weight and get in shape, a real laugh and where I felt very comfortable. Please consider reviewing this Pure Gym, give the PTs their freedom back, and boost the morale of them and us!

Won't even respond to the "assistance" button for a possible tour, email managers but each time they reply, takes them 1 week to respond, even if i want to book a suitable time for the managers to be free and allocate a staff for a new member tour, it needs minimum of 2 emails of 1 week response time to actually get somewhere...

User

Second Sunday in succession that no spin instructor has turned up for for Sunday spin class, no notification to say cancellation....bunch of fooking clowns!!!

User

Sad to hear that Pure Gym won't pay PPL licence. Quick spot of math, the licence for all of their gyms equals 0.2% of their profits. Poor quality music has already resulted in classes being cancelled and the others won't be as enjoyable. Very disappointing as the rest of facility is... what you would expect for the price. Not great, but OK.

User

Really disappointed that pure gym won't pay PPL licence so that decent music can be played during classes, and even more disappointed that this has resulted in the step classes being cancelled! Who wants to do step to some robotic drone trying to be palmed off as motivational music

User

Overcrowded gym taking more and more people 2pm and everything is being used except dumbells which I can buy and use at home waste of time.
